Travel Journal – Last Entry
This will be my last entry of the Journal, therefore it doesn’t need a specific date when it covers up Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I’m writing this in the morning of Sunday, which from my point of view actually is my last day in Tokyo. Tomorrow I’ll just have time to check my luggage one last time before I go. I need to leave the apartment at around 8:30 to be able to go to the airport and check in. The train from here to Ueno will take about 50 minutes and from Ueno to the airport it will be an additional 40. So when I arrive at the airport the time should be around 10, which is an hour before my flight departs, so maybe I must go even earlier, I don’t want to miss my flight… that would be most unfortunate…
Well, whatever I’ll do then doesn’t matter now anyway. The past few days I haven’t done much at all other than wander around Tokyo enjoying the city and thinking for myself. I’ve bought some things yesterday1, and will buy more things today. I’ve actually bought everything I could find for people, except for the thing Jocke asked me for, it seems like everything except for the light gun is hard to get a hold on. But then again, my Japanese is so crappy that they may have misunderstood some of my questions. Today thou I’ll buy something for him anyway. I’m not sure if I’m going back to Akiba or if I’ll stay here today, but well, most likely I’ll go to Shibuya or Akiba today to buy some last stuff. I’m even considering buying a Wii when the prices on the PS3 and Wii are about 40-50% less here than in Sweden. I even found a Wii that cost only about 1200 SEK, used but still. The only reason to why I want one is because they seem to have an infinite number of good role playing games to both PS2 and Wii here… I wonder why they won’t come to Sweden, well… most likely I won’t buy it this time anyway…
I’ve gotten a new roommate again. But this one doesn’t matter. When I arrived back home from Asakusa yesterday his bag and his belongings were in a pile in the middle of the room, of course that made me think that this guy might be trouble. I mean, most of the people that have lived here have kept their stuff at least in some kind of order and not spreading them across the room. I don’t mean that you need to have a super order or something, but just to keep things out of the way would be good. Well, later when I returned from a evening in Shinjuku with one of the last trains, he had fixed it so I sighed in relief. It would have been a little bit annoying to have to live in his mess the last few days. He himself wasn’t here thou and he didn’t arrive until recently when he dropped in and went to bed. He doesn’t seem like a bad person and so but I have no impression of him whatsoever right now. He speaks good English so maybe he’s an Englishman, but other than that I’ve barely seen him2.
Well, things will probably work out anyway. He seems to be going around five this afternoon anyway and I’m going out soon to buy some last stuff and then spend the rest of the evening drinking up the last of my tea, eating up all my last food and pack all my bags making sure that nothing will break during the flight. I’ll probably write one more post, thou not about my travel but about something else. So you’ll see…
Well, see you all later. Oh yeah, one thing worth mentioning about this Journal is that it became 46 pages long. That’s a lot, so well…
Best regards,
Herid Fel
