Soliders and Chests
Yarr, matey! I hope you have your chests because the treasures are back!
Yes, I decided the last session to bring them back, the stones that is. They will work as before but I want them to have some more effect plus to be an addition to the casual training done in The Eye. One catch though, you need to own a chest to get stones. So no chest, no stones. Easy as cake, so the stones are mostly just a bonus.
Anyway, they will still just be a under element. I will stop dealing out small amount of AP now with the stones back and most likely decrease the AP-only rolls. The amount of AP from stones will be determined by high levels i.e. 10, 15 and 20 will change them. I also decided to skip 1-10. And I mean that you need to have reached this. So to actually change from the first level you need to have 15. Also know that the amount of AP will not be that great as before. It will be minor, but the stones put in a Trinket Box will be greater. Though the stones are meant to be used and not to be saved. I will put up special restrictions which I’ve already mentioned for saving and using saved stones.
Well, people have reached Solider now! Fabulous news! Every one shall have risen their age with at least two years since the start too. As it stands now Katherine is the most distinguished of all the player characters. She might reach Eye Captain yet. After her comes Jens and last comes Tatsuo. But in the whole Squad Doken is last and Owen and Katherine is first. Owenalh have distinguished himself quite a bit amongst the Mages even though he has mostly failed or just presented himself as average. What distinguish him though are his extraordinary adaptive, deductive and cognitive abilities with the mysteries. That plus his gift for rules and politics, not to mention his last stunt to actually apply for the Mage Solider Exam instead of the usual much easier Exam which most Mages takes and then later upgrades.
Owen is desperate to gain more knowledge and power as a Mage and thus seems he’s striving to get more power and knowledge as quickly as he can. This though can be very, very dangerous for him. Doken on the other hand of the main NPCs are not interested in extravagances like special ranks and attaining power and knowledge. Now being solider his main goal with The Eye is fulfilled. Now he wants to live the life adventurer, making the world a better place, but also being part of something greater than himself. He wants freedom but the military life and friends.
Mio’s role in the group though is not as easy nor is it as well known. She joined The Eye about a month after the rest of you, but still she has a history with Robin. She knows much about him and also seems to have a crush on him or just in a general aspect revere him and hold him in a very high regard. She’s a varied element to the group as well as a teaser meant to push and give depth to simple things. Not to mention that she’s radically different in many ways, not to mention her concept is one I’ve seldom played.
As you might figure out from all these factors, I’ve upped the level of play. This though will not last if not enough interest and commitment is shown. It’s not hard to just let it drop again I tell you that. The next arc will provide more freedom for y’all since you’ll be soldiers. I’ll also bring you on two longer, bigger more special adventures quite from the start and probably give you a possibility to participate in the glorious historic event where The Eye prevails in Meno and drives back the Necromancers and at the same time establish the Meno Division. I’ll probably end the next arc with this and also give you the possibility to transfer to the Meno Division if you participate in that event.
Any other questions or request for the next arc? I’m willing to listen since I’m going to plan a little more now when I’ve increased the level of devotion to the game again… let’s see if you can keep it up. Next session and the Arc Start will be your first Team Quest as Soliders. It’s a quest Rasmus have played the prototype of and also a Quest I’ve actually played on a TA-convention. The Quest is know by the name of; “Gruvan i Torshäll”.
Well, well, questions or anything?
Best Regards,
Herid Fel
finally back online hehe, was tired of my windows so I reinstalled.
Well, well things are getting more interesting and fun, and ive actually felt the last sessions that its going abit better and ill probably stick with this character, trying to achieve the goals I had in mind for her.
“The amount of AP from stones will be determined by high levels i.e. 10, 15 and 20 will change them.”
Dont really understood this part, high levels of what?
Other than that im looking forward to the next session of the eye.
As for requests and questions, my only request is that I hope it will be abit varied quests and one thing ive been hoping abit for awhile with a group like this is a more
adventurous quest/assignment.
Oh, and one question, is it possible to hear our evaluation of the soldier missions, would be fun to hear atleast and might give some insight of things.
High Levels, rough levels, old levels. Just an expression I’ve started to use to myself when I use the old levels (1-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20). And it’s Aptitude that’s always determined how much your stones are worth.
That is something you’ll have to do in game, later. It’s not a default thing either though but something you’ll have to do as a Solider if you want to hear it.
I would have been really glad to hear about the return of stones if it wasn’t for the obvious, Oh well.
I’m looking forward to soldier life atleast, as for requests I can’t think of anything concrete at the moment. I will keep thinking about it. The Meno war against necromancers sounds interesting, if scary. I’d say yes to participating in that however I’d like the characters to be able to grow alittle bit first though 😛
By your own choice.
Well, there are several missions of different characters and difficulty in the War. Though this will be a big operation not making you the highlight guys. Only that you’ll be part of something bigger in a big operation with The Eye. Kind of like the Platoon Exercise but bigger, and real.
We’ve discussed this, I see no need to do it further.
Sounds pretty cool, looking forward to it.
