JALD – 1×13 – The Crash

Well, well, well… This is something very unusual. Me writing more than twice on the same day… or wait… that happens a lot, but posting it on the same day almost never happens. However, this is an introduction for the next session. If you have any dissagreement please do post your questions, hehe. Well, here are the replacement for the session you won’t have today.

Suddenly the wraith disappeared and almost instantly something happened. Leon felt a strange feeling in his gut as he almost flew out of bed and straight into the wall. The zeppelin was falling! Was this somehow connected to the wraith or was it just a coincidence? As Leon thought over the situation he gathered as much all his stuff and tried to get his swords…

A sudden boom in the sky made Jayde stop running and look up towards the sky. Up there, with a flaming tail she could se a zeppelin going in a steep direction down. Another explosion tore off part of the bottom of the zeppelin and one of the elevators seemed to fly flaming down into the forest below. Frozen as she was she instantly decided to try to get to the crash site, it would be warmer there and maybe she could pick up something useful from the bodies…

Panic reined on the zeppelin. Duo didn’t really know how to take advantage of the situation but for now he just wanted to find a safe place. But where in the bloody hell could you find a safe place in a falling oven? If this thing crashed the balloon would most likely explode and the chances of survival would be slim. This was all that damned wraiths fault! Showing up in the middle of the night and starting to talk! All of this was absurd but still, interesting. He had no idea that things like this could happen. Where the hell was that orc?

Dark hills. Snowy dark hills with lots of trees. Stars that glimmered, two moons that shined and an occasional shimmer from one of the gods passing over the clear night sky. You could see the Fortress of Kalmar from here, yes you could. Sometimes, during daytime you could see the towers of Hornheim’s Castles too but seldom during the night hours. Tim shrugged off some snow of his winter coat and took a sip from his bottle. Whiskey was the best thing with these guard duties… The tower had a big repository filled with liquor for the guards and the captain often gave the night guard some extra. He turned his eyes to the sky again as the red light suddenly passed by the sky and temporarily covering the land in a reddish glow. That’s when he saw an explosion in the sky not far from the tower. He looked again but saw nothing. Had he imagined the whole thing? He took the scope and turned it against the place where he thought he had seen the explosion.

Leon opened his eyes and look up towards the flaming sky. Oh, it was a beautiful night. Why hadn’t he noticed that earlier? Well no matter he could observe the flaming stars now. Where was he? It felt like he should remember something, something important. It has hot, maybe too hot, did that matter? Oh, that star looks like it’s calling on me, maybe that’s my star. I should get a quill and paper and try to mark it on something. As Leon started to move his hand he felt a sharp sensation throughout his body, something was wrong, very wrong. He lifted his arm and looked on it for a few minutes without realizing what he saw. His arm was covered in dark murky blood and his black sleeve was thorn into shreds. But the arm looked intact, maybe it was just a splinter. Suddenly a face appeared above his, he knew this face, it was familiar somehow. The face looked concerned and it’s mouth was moving but Leon didn’t hear anything. Leon smiled to the face and tried to search for his pen, it should be here somewhere…

Jumping from one foot to another to keep up the warmth Jayde looked towards the place where the zeppelin had crashed. Maybe it would be okay to go there now. Her feet was freezing and the rest of her body was starting to cool down too. Damn this frozen land! It had been nothing but trouble so far but soon things would change, yes it would. But first, some clothes and hopefully some gold. She smiled as she started to run to towards the site. She would show them, show them all.

Duo was trying to drag Leon out from the wreck but it was no easy task. The orc was obviously delusional and smiled like a foolish kid that’s been caught doing something bad. The orc was heavy as a fucking mountain! It was in times like this that Duo wanted to be a magician. Why was he doing this? Why hadn’t he fled the place already? As sure as the sun would rise, looters, thieves and robbers would soon show up to pillage on the wreck not to mention wolves and other creatures that would like a hot meal. Even so, he still was trying to help this orc. He had clearly been out of it ever since Jayde’s death and now he was babbling to himself like a child on that horrible language of the orcs. He was no expert in wounds, but if somebody didn’t remove that stick from his hip the orc would probably die.

And I think that’s enough. Didn’t feel like I did the best I could on this but I can clarify what need to be clarified. The situation we’ll start in is when Jayde just arrives at the clearing watching the burning havoc and dying people. Leon will be dragged a bit out from the worst of the things with Duo tending to him. Duo himself is hurt but not even as close as Leon. Leon won’t have control to begin with, he will still be delusional and thing he is somewhere else etc, etc. Then a lot of stuff will happen.

Other than this, the whole world is coming to the boiling part soon, so many things will start happen all over the place that won’t directly involve the characters but I plan to make the effects pretty clear to you all.

So what triggered this? Well, Foppa and PB are slowpokes as we all know… not everybody keeps an eye on the blog as Ankan and I do, but then we seem to be the most dedicated players in Luleå. However, this post was originally thought to be something I would tell during the supposed session with Foppa and PB today. But due to their lack in communication skills and interest Foppa totally missed this until it was too late. I got a message from him around four-five in the morning telling me that twelve is too early for him. Well, then beat it I thought and now they’ll have to wait for the next session while Ankan and I will play during the evening. So until then they’ll have to enjoy this story-like summary that will set the setting of the next session.
