The Quests Ahead

We will now turn to a Questform of gaming. This means I will set up quests and you can choose which you want to do or not.

I’m not entirely sure on the setup yet but in general there well be a couple of these quests to proceed. Travelling will be swift and fast and time will flow faster than it has before. From this point forward there will be jumping. Between each session there will be training. And progressing through your individual development. Some or each quest will provide answers to the Quest or at least something equally important. Death will be, as it has been since the last couple of sessions, a real deal.

The Quests will most likely not be full-group quests. As you might have realized. You need to prioritize and divide and conquer. The quest cannot succeed if you are all focused on one task.

The main objectives for you are the following;

Finance
To be able to do everything you’ll need to do you need to have money. Training, living, gear and equipment costs money. And some of you still has a trait to train. You have Melfite, but as you’ve seen. Melfite’s gold is problematic and you still need more to be more free and flexible in your options.

Quest Plan
Developing a plan as well as developing your skills is essential. This is something Ethen mainly will work on passively so there will always be some progress on the quest between sessions. Passive if you haven’t succeeded with objectives during sessions.

Resource
You cannot do all of this without other resources. Like allies or other special items. Contacts, information, everything.

So every quest will have one or more of these points included. There is room for personal development as well, but most of them fall into the above categories. Or at least most of them.

Well, to add, I cancel the sessions this weekend. I need to rest. My body does not like me for the moment and I need to finish your personal development and your inventory before we continue. So Tuesday next week will probably be the next session.

See you all then.

Well, just as a response to the post

As ive said before im not that intrigued by the thought of
“quest-gaming” since its feels just way too “TV-gaming-esque” but I can do see that it will bring some focus and can be used to speed up things
but at the same time I think alot of things will be lost, im guessing most things will be rolls, and some choices basically and then an outcome(good/bad).

I do hope personal development will be included and actually a decent chance of reaching something. Was really hoping for some success on the personal level now that we reached Grandicka.

Well just some thoughts, I guess we will see how it turns out. Just hoping this type of gaming is not permanent.

Some things might be lost. But I don’t think so. And no, it will not be good/bad outcome. Not if I get it right at least. Probability rolls will still exist as usual, I like the concept, but they won’t be what determines everything.

Of course, this is included as “Resource” or the like. Everything should provide development in one way or another. Because if you don’t grow. The Quest wont either.

Thank you for your input. It’s much appriciated.

As for the game-style it is what it should be, circumstantial. As we have discussed earlier and as all in the group should realize. Having a group always being on the same place isn’t realistic or good. You need to split up now and then, join together, see each other. Etc, etc.

The quest have been an excellent way to actually make sense of why you are all gathered together but many things have been uninteresting and not really something each of your characters would have done if they could have had the choice of focusing on other stuff.

I have a vision of the group being a group but also being able to move around without being tied together so tightly. After this campaign it will be very much “travel” mode on the group. You should have the opportunity to split up more often not to far, maybe say mostly 1-2 weeks travel distance from each other unless it’s something special. But in general, not on the same place. Maybe I’ll even put in more NPCs to make it more lively (Resource again)

But I guess you all can understand what I’m saying?

It’s not like Rand, Mat, Perrin always travel together. I will try to avoid single-sessions and single-player groups but that’s mostly because it drains to much power unless I have a purpose.

Well, well… back to the prologue now. (Yes I finally got it!)

Well thanks for the clarifications, hope it works out as you hope.

        This I agree with.
