The Five United – Next Session

So, now the group has begun. Or at least, we have in theory begun.
The following session on Tuesday will revolve around getting equipment, expressing your characters personalities and style and some introductory fighting.

But will you return to Northend? The answer is, yes, most likely. I haven’t planned everything that will happen in detail. In fact, I have mostly just planned the beginning and the general setting. The rest is up to you and the story. As we all know, stories have their own life when being put in an interactive form such as role-playing and thus much might happen that will drag the story here and there unexpectedly.

You all set out mostly because you have all been groomed for this. Prepared for this, and told that this is what you all live for. You are burning by the flames of a story that’s been shining in your minds since you were barely able to speak. Some might even say you’ve been a little bit brainwashed. The families have lived for this cause for generations, and it is bound to become something of a cult-like nature in causes like this. Don’t question, just do. They say this, therefore you must do it. And you want to do it, you burn for it.

So my advice and will as game master is, play it more simple-minded than usual. Now I don’t mean stupid. But I mean, be more bound to the story and the setting. Live it more. Don’t think too complex as we all do in reality and usually do. Just act, do and feel. I think that if you tries to find logic and meaning behind everything from the beginning, it will spoil the mood. You must act as if you feel it. A little bit cultish. Say for instance, see signs where there are none, and see it as the reason for being. The sole purpose in life.

But development is good. So the more we play, the more you can develop your feelings and your reasoning. Especially about the Quest and the reason behind everything. And heck, I would say if you even decide in the end to abandon the Quest after you’ve started reasoning. That’s fine. But start as the brainwashed youths you are from this simple setting of Northend.

Now I have several documents I’m mostly writing to myself but some of them I am to share with you. For instance, the background behind every family will be shared here in a post that will be in Swedish. You got most of it on Saturday but if you wish to read it and do whatever from it it will be here on the blog. Even though it’s mostly just story-fluff of no real game-consequence.

I’m also thinking about maybe, just maybe, putting down my information about Northend here. Not Noria, other than the general description of Noria, This way you know more about your home-town without asking too much questions. I heard that you wanted the story of The Five as well, and maybe you’ll get it. But not yet for a while. Its’ not prioritized since I don’t really think it important.

Well, well, hope it will be fun. And remember to get in to character and think about how to describe yourself and act tomorrow.
