The Lo(a)st Sessions
This is a recap of the last five sessions I believe, made for Daniel especially… enjoy!
It all started with the long awaited trip to the arena to finally make some gold!(yeah right)
Katja, Rogark and Zeon decided to join a convoy of merchandise from Hanks that was heading for Drakkin, while Taethilis chose to stay back working and searching for more clues of Odium through other means.
KaRoZe almost followed this convoy all the way to Drakin but got sidetracked when they heard a cry for help far out in the forest, there they helped and met a tribal man with strange markings on his body and they could only understand one word and that was Odium.
They accompanied this strange man which fortunately was heading to the arena also.
The arena was pretty big and was obviously connected and owned by Overlord Yugo, losing sight of the tribal man they(KaRoZe) decided to try their luck with the arena games, which ended in defeat for Zeon, while Katja and Rogark managed to win one match of survival.
The following weeks were somewhat uneventful and not much clues to Odium came up, except for the victory Katja managed against the old tribal man they met earlier, which ended in the group getting to know what island group they should head for, namely The Lucius Islands. Katja also received an open invitation to one of the lords of Drakkin, curious about this she decided to accept this invitation but not at the moment.
Around this time Katja discovered Xin’s polluting the nature between Miyar and Drakin resulting in a nature’s dilemma of letting it be and turning the forest spirit and the forest itself into a dark forest or try to devour the spirit and finding a new pure spirit once the Xin’s have been dealt with or otherwise, Katja chose the latter which made winter come early to say the least. Rogark on the other hand chose to undertake a job which meant killing seven people hiding in a cave, these people though, were almost innocents and thus when killed a shudder was cast out through the Triquerta bond which put the Triquerta in a really unbalanced state.
Nearing the end of these uneventful weeks they all(TQ) had the same dream they had earlier, this time with a new message, saying that if they don’t find ways to restore balance and continue to work on their bond between each other they would never stand a chance against the three demons. Everyone in the Triquerta agreed that they should be trying harder and with the discovery of a new spell Taethilis had made they chose to try this in the forest near their soon to be new home, the cave.
Winter had also made everything much more expensive and people huddling up in the towns instead of living on the smaller islands.
The spell was somewhat a success even if the effect was weird to say the least, but the bond grew stronger and the imbalance was lessened although not completely gone. Directly after the spells success they found themselves surrounded by a group of Tribal men chanting and asking them if they wanted to see Odium, seeing this as an opportunity to maybe reach their goals they accepted the Tribals offer.
They travelled on a strange boat which mysteriously managed to sail through the now stormy wintery seas that lead them to a strange small island with some sort of portal on it.
With no way of getting back the only way was forward through the portal which lead them to another small island seemingly devoid of life, and the only thing living on it was one single tribal calling himself Muido.
Muido was also the name of this island strangely enough, and made the group question why they had been put here. It was pretty uneventful until nightfall came in which a darkness swept over the lands of Muido making it almost impossible to see anything. The group which had taken refuge on the beach of this island had learned of this darkness from Muido and was prepared to fight whatever arose in this darkness that engulfed them. Spirits that tore away from your very soul arose but was eventually defeated by using fire, Muido informed them that this would occur every night on Muido Island, realizing that this would be impossible to survive forever the group started to look for ways to get of this island.
The day after the first attack was uneventful until they explored the eastern side of the island, which resulted in a rescue from a lone pirate called Harock, which also made the group even poorer than before, the group decided to bring Muido with them off this accursed island and when they finally managed to get to Miyar again Taethilis managed to get some more titbits of information out of Muido before letting him go.
Time passed and the group was recovering in their cave which was located conveniently close to Maiar. During this time of recovery the group from Magicka that were coming (the Triquerta had been notified earlier through letters) to make some physical check-ups and other things had arrived. It was mostly uneventful and most attention was on Katja and her unexpected spike of power which had been recorded earlier. Katja also agreed to start performing different tests with her spirit devourer to figure out its power and behaviour.
During this time Katja was also approached by Paladins that had some questions and they wanted to perform a minor ritual/blessing to see if Katja was an abomination or a gift of nature. Luckily enough it proved to be the latter which was a great relief.
Rogark decided to join the recently started Adventurers’ Guild.
The arrival of the mage group also made the streets of Miyar and the town itself even more packed seeing as a big cruiser had arrived with a lot more people staying in Miyar over the winter.
Weeks followed with experiments, training, meeting new friends and a trip to Drakin, partly because Katja wanted to see what this invitation could lead to and also for the trip itself.
The lord wanted a man and a woman slain who had dishonoured him, Katja agreed in slaying the man but not the woman which reduced the payment of the deal a lot.
In Kadin the group only made a quick stop to buy some bedrolls and trinkets for since sleeping in a cave during winter was, cold to say the least.
Questions?
//PB
Thanks for the update, but I would like elaboration on a few points.
You said that the spell’s effects were weird, but you didn’t otherwise describe it. What exactly happend?
Also, what does “tidbits” mean? I’d like to know more specificly what we learned from this Muido guy… Unless of course it’s just a vague in game ‘progress’ indicator. Who the heck is this Muido guy anyway? And why was he on the island?
I take it they wanted to execute you or something if you turned out to be abominable then? If not, what was their interest in you?
Any more particulars about the Magicka people and their tests?
What taethilis had discovered was some sort of melding spell in which we would meld our magical auras together while forming a spell which could change its effect depending on how we ended the spell, basically we moved around in a circular pattern closer and closer together while casting different kinds of spells. The point was to end the spell with a fluid movement of some sort while reaching out with our magical auras in unity.
Ours ended with an acrobatic cheerleading stance, with Katja and Taethilis standing on rogarks shoulders. Our spell ended with a creation of a seemingly impenetrable pyramid form in which we were enclosed within. We only tried it once so we dont really know how to control the results and such but we knew it was a success when we could feel the bond strengthening.
Muido was one of these tribal men, although he was more like a young boy that had been punished according to himself to this island which also was called Muido. As for the tidbits, well we learned that the tribal society is ruled by priests and basically what they say is law.
We got to know that muido and odium is connected, basically Odium stands for order/light or something like that, while muido represents chaos/darkness.
There was something more aswell, but I cant actually remember it too 100% without my notes. I think those two tidbits were most important though.
Well they had heard rumours about a “Green lady” so I suppose in a sense they were acting on these rumours to see if Katja was an abomination or not. And if katja had been an abomination well, I guess things wouldnt have turned out for the good. Im not sure exactly about the policy around abominations but im sure it would not have been a good thing.
I suppose as a sidenote Katja also learned she is not considered as a human anymore at least not by holiness, but not really getting to know what she is either.
Well except for the physical check-ups and such we got to talk with the leader of these, Shim which had some questions but nothing in particular, he also suggested we do something for the community here in Miyar to show magicka that we are capable mages and can act like mages should.
Oh yeah, we also agreed to have a presentation of our Triquerta in five weeks on a exact date, or we would most likely be considered as rogue mages =(. In exchange for this exact date we got a magical elixir which can recover ALOT of MC, which will come in handy when practicing triquerta spells, since its very draining.
