System Update – 110913

Well, yesterday we tried the battle and at least I was pleasantly surprised.

I had expected a lot more complications than occurred. I felt quite satisfied with the system but I always expect problems, especially when introducing it to other minded people than myself.

Anyhow, I would like to know what you thought of the system. Did you like it, was it an improvement or not compared to the old system? Which do you prefer? Is something missing, and so on.

Well, and if you want to remind me/us about what to take care of, I wouldn’t mind a comment about that either.

Thanks for the help yesterday!

I feel like it has potential, however I also feel like it’s hard to really have a strong opinion without more ‘parts’. I’m interested in seeing how the magic system will work, aswell as striker stuff and skill based movement.

I’ll reserve judgement for now, in it’s current state however, I still prefer the old system over the new.

When I read this on the phone I intended to repeat the problem I described just before you left, but since we have already covered that now, I don’t want to go into it again.

I think you have noted all problems that I have found already, so no more about that.

I like the potential with this more dynamic system, but I have my doubts. It may prove to be a bit complex with a lot to keep track of when things are supposed to happen. The normal idea of rounds makes some things easier, but also introduces limitations. If things turn out good, I think I would prefer the new system.

Things are currently missing, a lot of things. But we already knew that since it is not a complete system.

This I cannot understand. How you prefer the old system I mean.

But it’s only an opinion so well. But in my opinion this system is in all ways better than the old. I can’t see anything that the old system is better than this one. And I mean as a system, and even with just the little bit you’ve tested.

Well, well, hopefully you’ll change your opinion or be weird for the rest of your life. Damn conservationist.

    Yeah, potential is there.

When you say complex I do not understand how. I understand that you think that the Basic Actions seemed like a lot of stuff. But to be frank, it was already there. The only difference now is that I’ve put them down on a list this time and thus making them viewable and possible to see.

Otherwise I do not understand how you could mean complex since I think it’s easier, funnier, faster and overall just smoother and better.

The key would be ‘in it’s current state’. The old system is more complete.

And for the record…. A conservationist is someone who works to preserve nature, which I am not by any stretch of the imaginiation. Also, I’d hardly call someone conservative for thinking the old system better before the new one is developed.

Hopefully you won’t be weird for the rest of your life either, but I won’t get my hopes up 😛

Besserwisser as always =P (And you still fail to see how it comes that I call you this?) It is strange that you can’t catch the meaning behind the words.

I will always be normal, so no worries there.

I think you just choose to see me not adressing what you actually meant after snubbing you for using the wrong word. (to clarify; I don’t consider myself a conservative, especially not in the context.)

Afterwards or before, doesn’t matter. That comment is still Besserwisser and you still act as one, quite often.

And conservative is something I consider you to be in your oppinions since my question was if you liked the new system better or not. Even though the system is not finished now at least I, Rasmus, PB and Ankan (or at least the latter one seems to) sees why it’s better and easier.

If you need a complete system to say if it’s better or not, that is weird since that seems to indicate that a major change needs to be done or you just think that the old system is better so far. On the conceptual level.

So yes, I still accuse you to be conservative since you like the other system over this.

One point to you though, it’s good to see you answer on the blog. Even though it’s only gibbering.

You’re not taking what I say at face value, that’s why I said what I did. If you bring what I say out of context, or twist it to mean anything except what I mean I shall always do this.

I’ve said what I meant and twist or ignore it as you will, the bottomline is that as the system is, I still prefer the old system… I did say that the new system has potential, but I reserve judgement = it looks good but I can’t comment much yet.

If you think that’s weird, well… Fine by me, I don’t much mind.

You’re not exactly encouraging me to respond by insulting me you know. I stated my opinion and and motivated it. All you did was rant at how it and I am flawed. It’s not a climate I care to have any discussion in at all. If you want me to respond tone it down.

Anyway, it’s bit different responding to this short post that was related to something I participated in, and just the other day to boot.

Well, I understand. And I’m sorry. Even so, I think it a strange way to formulate your opinions of the system. Gives a sense that you do not think it a better system.
