Short Story Shortage

I’ve noticed that I haven’t written any short stories of late. I’m not sure but it almost seems like I haven’t written a short story for half a year or so. My last try must have been around the Deben group but after the collapse of that group it seems like everything have faded away.

I think I must write again though. Nianze needs to be more visualized and realized through writing so I can translate my thoughts more. The problem though is to find the motivation (and time) to do this. Since Project 3 it’s been hard to muster up anything when people seem so reluctant to give me any feedback on my stories even those I really put effort into.

I’ve felt tempted to write once or twice since then when a session went well with ADS but somehow the knowledge and the feeling of the lack of enthusiasm have popped that bubble. It feels kind of like a waste of time when people obviously aren’t interested in my stories.

Well, even so I’ve been thinking that I need to give my world more structure and try to train myself in writing again. So my thoughts have come to this; either I check WHO is willing to give me feedback and support and password protect my next project and only give it to these who have explicitly expressed their interest or I ask you what you want me to write about, let you agree upon something and then I start writing in hope that you would be more enthusiastic about giving feedback and support if you got to chose a type of story for yourself.

So down to my question; which of these alternatives would suit you best? If you aren’t interested you don’t need to reply. But in the worst case scenario I just give up the idea of writing again and just let it be.

So what do you say (if anything)?

Well, two things that popped into my mind directly when you talk about visualizing nianze and short stories is:

either a story that gives some more insight into a country, for instance Meno which seems to have been going through some changes, atleast in your mind, with all the states and such. I think that would be interesting.

Another thing would be to see some more into the world of Holy addendum, since atleast for me thats something I feel have been missing in some parts in nianze compared how it was when I started playing back in the days, or atleast some more insight from a PoV about different beliefs or faiths.

Anyhow that was just 2 things that I came up with this instant, that I know I would atleast be interested in hearing about.

You kind of ignored the important question there……..

Which alternative would suit you the best?

The two alternatives you bring up though are kind of hard. Meno still isn’t finished completely and the addendum is a lot of work to create a good picture about without babbling or writing very long and too instructive texts.

Of the two though an adventure including holiness and the like is the easiest. Making something out of Meno though will require a lot of work on a scale which would rather suit a group than a novel. Maybe if I decide to put role-playing down a level. And since I’ve just raised the efforts given I’m not sure about this.

Still, I want an answer on the choices I gave.

Well, If I really I have to choose I would say, alternative two, since if you make a short story that atleast have some of the things we(me) are asking for or wish to see in a story, I think that atleast should bring out some more interest.

        So, alternative two then.

Well, I think I’ll just face the facts instead. There are only one that might want to read my stories.

That, unfortunately, is not enough. I will not return with short stories, not openly at least.

Oh inspiration is there. But this page doesn’t seem to be the right place since I won’t get any readers here.
