The Unexpected Twist

Well, lets all agree upon that what happened on the session this Saturday was quite unexpected in most ways. Even so, something good might come of it…

When Jens tried to obliterate the Skeleton Lord he created a surge vortex within himself. This of course could have instantly killed the group but since a Star Crossed with a relatively sealed fate (for the moment) was there the outcome had to be favourable to his survival.

I was not prepared for this and frankly, the battle went pretty bad from my point of view and expectations. Sometimes I should power play my NPCs more in favour of protecting you but I often put too much into their personalities and “humanity” to do that often. So while some of you make too rational decisions I often do quite the opposite I’ve seen.

Anyhow, Jens might have saved or doomed us all now with this. I took the opportunity to give you a phenomenon which is highly unlikely and very rare. So rare that nobody in the group has heard of it or even have any knowledge of its existence and workings. This phenomenon might prolong the whole adventure a few more sessions but it might also cut it short. I have speculated and dreamt about different outcomes of this and in some all of you survive and in others some of you die and in most of them Jake survives. In many also, Jens dies and in some few Langler is brought back to life.

Well, then over to some explanations and hints. I actually meant to write this on Sunday but I’ve been busy. To begin with… in this phenomenon what you see and experience will be real but it won’t affect you the same as in reality. Also, things will flux and change quite much. Your affiliation with the world will matter to your access and your possibilities. Some of you will have possibilities others doesn’t have while other’s will have possibilities which will prove vital for your survival.

This strange phenomenon will also have a lot of hidden answers to it. An explanation which will prove quite useful in solving the adventure as a whole. It will also have one unique possibility to prevent something which might even save you all from a lot. Exploration and searching for details though will be quite useful later. This will be an opportunity to scout ahead and also build up a plan how to succeed with different things.

What’s important is to remember how you got there, and why. If you forget that this might end badly. Especially for Jens.

Anyhow, exploration, observation, and understanding is the key to everything. I will use some of the others to trigger this thing but mostly it will be up to you to make this happen.
