Thoughts about hiking
While driving back from Härnösand me and Andreas got the talking about Hiking in the mountains since it seemed like nobody in the car had done it. To me that’s impossible to fathom but I guess some people never have been out during those circumstances which is… strange. So I’m thinking about maybe going on a hike with people.
Well, I have about everything I need and the things I don’t I’ll borrow from people I know who has them. The thought though came to me in the car and after thinking for a while we should do it as soon as possible, the only problem though is that if Junior is to follow he needs to either take a day or two off from school or we’ll have to wait until he’s got some holiday or something. By that time it might be a little bit too late for a normal Autumn Hike which would require some more practice with Mother Nature.
I’m just curious if anyone here would be interested for something crazy like that, even though I’m not that thrilled about having a big group, partly because that would limit us somewhat. Well, well, just putting the thought out there. Maybe I’ll just go with Andreas or something.
Best Regards,
Herid Fel
I’ll pass.
Not interested.
I am not surprised when it comes to you two. Haha
Well, I think I would be interested, depending abit on when and where. done some hiking before, but I dont really have any good shoes at the moment or other equipment.
What equipment do you have?
When is not a good time?
Where, would probably be Abisko, I know that area best, that or Hemavan. Even though I’ve never free-hiked in Hemavan.
Well, for me if it means a long trip away from Luleå, a weekend would be best. doesnt really matter when though. just that weekends are better for me.
Lets see, might have a sturdy backpack not sure, guess I have a sleeping bag, dont know though if its any good in an autumn night.
Guess I have some smaller stuff aswell like a thermos and such things.
Im gonna check these things through and get back to you.
Three things is very important;
Sleeping Bag for at least 0 to -5, ground sheet to lay on, otherwise the ground will drain your warmth, plus a backpack of at least 60 litres.
Group-wise we need at least two tents if we are more than 4.
We need two alcohol stoves or convertible to gas stoves (gas is extremely more efficient) and easier to use.
Other than that it’s mostly small stuff such as clothes, and food and water resistant stuff.
