Harry Potter Marathon
Well, sometime in the middle of the week I felt like watching all the Harry Potter Movies again.
I got a whim after downloading most of them, maybe I should see if Robert and Rasmus would like to watch them with me in a marathon. So I messed them and it was decided. As almost always Robert brought along Foppa too, but whatever.
Andreas, who actually have gotten his Drivers License drove them here and also stayed and watched the two first movies. It’s nice to see that at least one of the older brothers is trying to achieve something meaningful in their lives and Andreas actually is more educated than I plus that he seems to have a stronger motivation to merge into society and all what that includes.
We watched the movies from around 19:00 on Saturday to 12:00 on Sunday. Six movies, about 2½h each. I’m pretty impressed that we actually managed to finish so early on Sunday. I half expected that we would have had too long pauses or be to tired to watch the movies so we wouldn’t be finished before 15. But we did, which was good.
I’m not too sure about how many who were actually awake during the last two movies. But all were awake, but alert and aware is more the right word. I know that I nodded of twice during the last movie but other than that I was awake. Alert though was not the word during the last movie either. I also now that both Foppa and Robert nodded off during the last movie. Since Foppa lay down on the black couch I think he had quite many opportunities to nod of without anyone noticing since it’s so dark in my living room during those conditions.
The movies are relatively good as the book to movie aspects are concerned but for those who haven’t read the book the movies are too shallow and to hasty. I’m pretty certain now though that my favourite book and movie is the forth sequel, The Goblet of Fire. Even though the movie felt too hasty on that subject. The only thing that was good with that was that they cut out the most annoying aspect of the movie, Rita Skeeter – an annoying journalist, almost completely except for the introduction scene of this annoying character.
Maybe I’ll read the books again after I’ve finished the Brandon Sanderson books I’m currently reading and after my 30th rerun of The Wheel of Time which I will begin shortly, just in time to finish up before the release of the 13th book in November.
Best Regards,
Herid Fel
