Weekend Talks
It’s interesting how things have turned out now when I’ve pulled the brake on the RPG-situation. I think that no matter what happens now, this was a good move in the big picture. Even though it might not be the most optimal thing to do for the role-playing.
We’ve talked quite much about RPG and such things this weekend when we were playing Ludus or rather after the Ludus game and also before and after the RPG on Sunday.
It’s quite obvious how high the group members different standards and expectations of RPG is even though some seem to pretend they have higher standards and expectations than they actually have.
My demands of a group is too high, I realize that and they will never be fulfilled by anyone most likely so I might as well put that aside. I also realized even though I’ve known it for some time that I don’t even have the opportunity to expand the group and my gaming in the way I wish under these circumstances since I frankly have too few interested players that actually seem to have anything more than a fleeting interest of Nianze and everything around it.
The chance for better groups and deeper involvement would be to have more active players but right now I have too few active people in the group for my standards to ever be realized so I would feel the effort I put down is worth it. The problem of course is me, since it’s what I feel and what that controls the outcome of things such as how much effort and time I will put down in a group.
Some of you seemed relieved by the changes, others disappointed while others mostly shrugs and doesn’t think much of it at all. I am like I am and nobody forced me to do anything. Life goes on. Then we have the particular case of PB who is twisting in pain and agony as the number of consistent sessions are decreasing to a minimum per week. Which in some cases are quite a lot considering how it is in most groups in Luleå. Or in Norrbotten for that part.
Well, well… a good thing we’ve finally tried on Ludus Gladiators now. I think I know how to change the rules and more optimize play even though that in this game as well as in RPG speed is of the essence. You can’t think too much, you need to act as you think to get a more fluent game or it will loose its edge. Maybe I’ll use some free Saturday in the future to have a campaign in Ludus again. Though I need to build a better Arena than before.
Best Regards,
Herid Fel
