LoW – The Start

What shall I say really?

I am a little bit dissatisfied over the start but it’s only that it seems that I cannot implement all the information I want in the way I want it. Well, I’m working on how to change it but we’ll see.

Now for the usual nagging and critic.

I’m a little bit dissatisfied over some of your performance as well. Generally when I try to have you describe things. You don’t really take action and it somehow feels that I must push you too much. It’s to much of “and that” or “like that” or “generally do that”. I mean, even though PB tried – which unfortunately was a failure in my book – small things can be described. What PB failed with last session was doing too much of description in order to overcompensate. And in a very, very dull voice which would have made Foppa proud.

Like the training field, think of it as a battle and ignore me until I push my way in after I ask what you do. Take turns, describe what you do in small actions, not necessarily with in-game speech.

Danne: Ragnar jumps lightly from foot to foot on the spot as he does shadow boxing in the dull light of the torches.

Junior: Eitrid, who stands next to his twin brother bends closer to Snorred and points discreetly at Ragnar and says something then giggles.

Ankan: Snorred smiles faintly and nods but doesn’t giggle.

You can do it like that, with only brief inputs describing small things. And when I do things like describe things like stances and skill techs for swing weapons, to make it less dull, and not just say; Uhu, I try my best but in a slow way. What I’m trying to do is to teach you in-game what is to come out of game it is dull and it is hard for me to drag the whole group in things like that. You can do quite a lot of inputs in my pauses or when I ask what you do like;

“X, nods to himself agreeing with X2 but fails to remember when a righthand uses a lefthand stance to strike or not.”

Or just;

“X, shakes his head to himself – he knows this already and lets his mind wonder not paying any attention to what X2 is saying or showing for the moment.”

You understand? If I’m going to pull the session forward all the time I will go even deeper into detail-controlling the sessions and also making them shorter without as much space for own things in the beginning.

Well, the profiles are soon all up on the blog, so that should also correct some things and start you on your challenges. And if more information about your family is needed, I can provide it in those posts too if you want it faster than now in bits here and there.

Anyway I’m aiming for Saturday to have the next session, evening session. No request needed. I’ll put up a notice on the Events Calendar or a notice on the sessions page if I cancel it. There is hell of a lot to do now for some reason and I must find time and energy to do it.

Best regards,
Herid Fel

BTW, have you completely given up Danne? And Foppa, you know that all this about the past protected posts (not the profiles) is about you too. If you two have given up or doesn’t care, then I want to know now and this is settled so I don’t need to wait for things that will never come.

    Yeah, an inquiry too;
    What do you yourselves think about the two first sessions?

    Could have gone better. Haven’t really gotten into everything, which will hopefully change with the new posts and more playing.

    Will try to improve. Also need to stop spacing out, which happened a few times last session…

    Otherwise, not too bad.

    About the two first sessions i am dissatisfied with my own performance atleast. But I do miss the single sessions before starting although I know that having the single sessions on these characters would have been tedious for you, but when you have a single session all session time is focused on you and your surrounding making it easier to get into the flow of things.

    And yeah the describing sucked, I felt kinda caught off guard though as you basically started describing the morning and so on, and then “so how does your room look” poof..hehe.

    Other than that, I think ive atleast started to get abit picture of the fort and the environment especially our own home, and also started to get a grip of the different members of our family.

    About your describing well its fine but abit jumpy sometimes atleast thats my feeling, I think its good that you give us some space though and I hope it will continue for awhile. Other than that I think you managed to give alot of npcs some nice and defining personal traits which is good since it gives us something to act on and I like most npcs so far, seems like a pretty interesting place to play in.

    Well I think and hope it will get better since this is a character im pretty satsified with how it turned out.

    I think the first two sessions have been interesting enough, as for the performance I feel like I could do better even though I blanked out twice. Well, I suppose time will tell…

    I haven’t conciously given up on the locked posts, but I still haven’t thought of anything new and it feels pretty hopeless.

    Yes, it is a little bit jumpy since I’m trying to think, act and react at the same time. That puzzles me though, the sessions are planned in detail but even so I’m jumpy in my reconstruction when in play. It’s probably too much information and too little response to act upon.

    Yes some of you seem to loose focus all the time, not to mention Danne who is looking WAY TOO MUCH ON THE CATS! I’ve often thought to put some blinkers on you or something to cover your eyes you are giving them too much attention and plays too much with your stuff to be focused on the game which also annoys me a great deal.

    If you loose interest or focus either try to express it in-game by taking initiative or trying to do something about it. I do not expect to drag this hole group like a flock of swans flying south, and if it is so boring maybe we should just leave it for a while instead.

    I take that as you give up, and also take it as confirmation.

    Then I know. The posts will remain locked forever, and the trend will continue for a while more. Posts that aren’t directly concerning you or Foppa will be protected. This will fortunately for you exclude the Myths when I have the time and energy to finish the last two chapters. But everything else will be protected unless it’s a hint to what I wish of you. This, in itself, is a hint. But don’t worry, if you attend to Rule Forum the most important information will in one way or another be disclosed to you.
