Ramble XLVIII

Oh my, what a high number ramble have reached. Well, well, I guess this is what happens if you write a lot of nonsense without a directed cause or something…

Well, I worked on the Myths yesterday and I realized that my previous estimate that the Myths would end up in 30 pages might be a little bit optimistic. I’ve barely rewritten about two, at most three paragraphs of the sixth chapter and only these three paragraphs became almost 2-3 pages long. Note that chapter six is quite long as it is now and if this will continue the sixth myth might be as long as ten, maybe thirteen pages. And chapter six starts on page 16 right now and ends on page 22 so it’s about seven pages now… (that includes the three pages I’ve revised) and say that it will grow another five… then we have thirteen pages… and even that seems quite optimistic sometimes. I’m still trying to hide some facts and make the story more “real” from the world’s perspective from a very prominent writer in Katia. So the myths should be the closest thing the world has to the truth of their history. So once again I say that the text IS NOT the truth even though it’s the best thing to a rational truth the world has. And everyone doesn’t believe in it and there are a very, very, very, few that know all of it. I would consider the Myths to be the result of a very old person with very high WIT 19-20 and with the proper Lore in his Knowledge.

Well, I’ve taken it that this group will play Debians in Narun so I’ve started to prepare for this so if you have any second thoughts I want to know in like five-ten minutes or so because after that I’ll probably drowned myself in preparations to create a very detailed setting. Or at least I will try, much is finished in Deben, much as it was in Taraien, but there is still some holes and caps that needs to be filled not to mentioned I need to playtest them before I will decide that the “feel” is right. I have an pretty clear image in which I dreamwalk but I need to transfer the feeling into a more concrete picture that can be projected to others.

But to manage to project something to someone in RPG sometimes goes wrong because people aren’t trying or have a hard time trying to understand. Mostly this is because they simply aren’t even trying or even bother to try. Which I see a lot of times within the group I’m afraid. But then again, my demands are often viewed as too high which I can agree on, but it still makes me sigh whenever I see someone force-fucking my world because a simple understanding of the world from the worlds perspective is not only too hard, but also to bothersome to keep up for more than half a session or so.

In campaigns it’s harder to force you players to understand the world from its perspective even though some protest in peculiar ways like totally rejecting everything just because you aren’t comfortable with it. Even so, understanding is still higher in campaigns where the closed off way forces you to do, think and act like you should.

Very, well, enough whining for now. It was mostly a reminder that I want you to play and see the world more from the worlds perspective than from your own so things flow more naturally and for the pace and feel to become more real. Now I’ll wait for some time before I’ll start writing on the Setting and then the campaign. I also wants to know when people can, will, and have time for Anubis and who will be joining. The group is open to all my players, including Forsberg. I will look over some things I’ve forgotten and make sure things are in order for Anubis for all the characters involved.

Well, hope I see an answer on Narun soon, and Anubis… well before it gets too late to play the damn thing and I will skip it just because you are to slow and unresponsive to my inqueries…

Best regards,
Herid Fel

Well, I take this as you doesn’t have any objections over Narun. I will describe as little much as possible later in a post then, hehehe. I like using words in that way, hehe.

Now I will write setting before I go to writing the campaign. Note that Foppa will most likely not enter the group before the campaign.

The main purpose of the campaign is to form you and your views so you become Debians in heart and soul. If you feel in the campaign that this is not for you, then I suggest you change characters instead of continuing because I want people to be able to feel, act and be Debians, not mediocre wannabes.

The Races possible for this campaign is Human, Orc and Littlemen.

Well , as Narun is already decided and I didnt have any objections anyway, I guess thats decided.

On the anubis query I can play basically anyday that is possible for the others.

  3. Daniel says:

No objections no… And as usual I can play pretty much whenever.

No objections here either. When it comes to playing anubis… I dunno. If you want to begin quickly – do it without me. I don’t think I’ll be doing anything more on the RPG front this week atleast other than the session on Monday.
