The Prehistoric Ages Part V
Nianze Myths
This is a series of a story-like history for Nianze. It’s meant to be written from the viewpoint of Yurin’s history books. Therefore nothing of this must be true. It’s only the common knowledge on the advanced level. Please read this text as it’s a story and imagine that this is a fact book and remember that your character1 may not know everything I write here, but mostly this is the common view and this is what the skilled or school-trained person in Yurin knows. But know that a very selected few actually go to school in this world to, so most have a little wicked view of the history and therefore you can, as an example, twist this text and remove some elements if you want to play a character who you don’t imagine to have been around scholars or been to a school of any kind.
This is the rewrite with some changes. In the end I’ll put a link to the other rewrites. If you want to compare the two different versions you’ll have to do it on your own though. Also note that I’ve changed some facts because I liked it better this way and to better suit other stuff I’ve come up with for my world.
Comments are most welcome as usual.
The Prehistoric Ages
Chapter Five – The Founding of the Nations
There are many disputes over what happened and in which order in this point of history. Almost every country have their own versions but sometimes there are even more versions than there is cultures even in the same country. So nobody can be certain, as usual, for how long or in which order or even what happened and how during this point, though with the help of the Demigods this is what is generally believed amongst the highly educated historians.
When the humans once again spread out over the planet after the Gods had spoken they went in all directions. Everyone was convinced of different things and some were even set to gather people and follow the Gods instructions. But most were just set in trying to survive and explore the world which they surprisingly fast had started to consider their own, even though they hadn’t fulfilled the Gods task before it was rightfully so.
But the ones who had spent most of their lives trying to free man and liberate them from all the monsters and the horrors which had shaken the world knew. They knew that without the Gods protection, there was no way that the humans would survive for long. There was too much left in the world that could kill and destroy humans and the humans still was just a child race without the expanded knowledge that the Demons had collected for millennia not to mention all the experience they had accumulated in their society for thousand and thousands of years. These were the ones most settled to follow the Gods task and unite the humans and find the signs. And with whatever means necessary to make them believe that the Gods could and would protect them. And without knowing it, many of these dedicated men and women, became the leaders the Gods had spoken about.
Aguin’s Foundation
It is believed that one of the first to successfully gather a group of humans and find the sign was the Demian Améron Firstbow, the first Demian marksman and also believed the only one that knew what a bow was and how to use it. Améron had fought against the Demons in The Demonic Wars and during the beginning of the stray age he had slain over a thousand Demons and their spawns. But when Améron went out on his journey to gather the humans, he was not alone. He had his big twin sisters Vallin and Iris with him too, the two most beautiful female Demians that had been made. Améron was the leader, and together with the twin Demians he had no problems in gathering and convincing the humans that he could lead them to safety and find one of the sign the Gods been talking about. With his determination and skill and the twin’s beauty and charm they had no problem in gathering a big group of humans. And when they had gathered a big enough group for their liking they went west towards the Azillroth Mountain Range.
When they got over the mountains, after a lot of battles with Dragons and other Demonic creatures that lived there, they found paradise2. Paradise was a big country that seemed not even scarred from the devastations of the previous havocs and catastrophes. According to The Legends of Paradise this country was so peaceful and calm that everyone that walked through its beautiful planes, forests and hillsides felt calm and pleased and were filled with joy and happiness. They saw no monsters, no destruction and they found food and clean water everywhere. Everyone was at ease and felt like the land was calling to them, calling to anyone to claim it. It’s also said that the souls of those who thread there with Améron felt at home, felt a familiraty with the land and that they were able to find natural paths through the vegetation and find shelter in the forests as if they knew the place.
One day though it’s said that Améron saw something glimmer in the horizon. And with his eyesight that’s quite far away. When he saw the glimmer at the horizon he felt an immediate urge to go closer, to see what it was. He told everyone that it was the sign, that this was what had pulled them there and that their journey soon would be over. He was certain that the glimmer was the sign they had searched for and that everyone would be able to rest soon, settle down and rest knowing that the Gods would protect them and help them build their new home. With this encouragement everyone tried their best to get to the source of the glimmer as quickly as possible. It is said that Améron and his company made this journey in only twelve days, from the day they entered Paradise to the day they finally came to the source of the glimmer. And it is also said that it only took them three days to reach the glimmer from the day Améron had seen it3.
It is said that on the third day they suddenly saw a beautiful lonely golden mountain stretching its golden peak for the sky with the holy divine shimmer of Gude, Sate and Vordén that swirling around it. When they saw this, they knew that it was the sign, and that they only needed to reach the mountain to fulfil their destiny. When they reached the mountain the Gods showed themselves once more. They said to Améron that he had succeeded in gathering the humans and find a suitable place to live on. As a reward for this he would be their first medium. They also said that this country was to be called the Holy Land, because it was here the Gods dwelled. This, Vallin has said is false, she claims that the title the Holy Land was brought up by the emperor later. Even so, this was the first country to be accepted by the Gods, and it was called Aguin4.
Blaro’s Foundation
Améron and his follow Demians wasn’t the only one trying to gather the humans together. When the humans scattered from the Nursery some of them went far to the north, while others went far to the south to explore the new world. The human hunters, those dedicated to fulfil the holy mission, went after every group but there was one human who didn’t belong to the hunters and even didn’t care about the task that managed to fulfil the mission and gain the thrust of thousands of humans.
Some of the groups of humans that had gone south quickly found themselves lost. They walked from place to place, but they had no idea what they were doing or why. Every group was drifting around is circles restless and anxious. Everywhere they went they saw big ruins from the demonic cities and monuments and got scared and ran away. There was no problem in surviving as long as they stayed in groups, but the restlessness and anxiety was too much for most people. In the end the groups stopped moving and stayed in one place, doing almost nothing. This is when a female human, one who had even fought against the Demonic Abominations during the end of the Stray Age, got tired of this aimlessly endless walking and sitting around doing nothing and barely living.
She started to walk around the camps talking about how pointless this was. Living in fear in the forests, living on berries and whatever they thought were safe to eat. Running away every time they thought they were in danger. If this was the freedom she had fought for, then she thought the humans should never have brought down the Demons, because at least they had a purpose back then. Se also spoke about all the visions she had heard from the humans that had convinced her to fight for their freedom during the Stray Age. She talked about how they would build up their own land, far better than the Demonic Empire and how they would make the visions of all those who had died and had started the wars come true. She told them about the tales of every man and woman she had met and all of those she had fought besides.
All her talk gave the humans and the few Demians left in the groups back their spirit and she soon convinced them that they could and should actually build their own place to live. The first human made settlement. A place where they all could learn how to make all those dreams and wishes of all those who had fought and hoped for this day to come true but hadn’t made it till the end. And so all the groups in the south gathered at one place and then they started to do what they had never done before, they started to build something. In the beginning nobody knew what to do or how, but then she told them that use their imagination. If the sky fell down, they wanted cover, if the storm was shaking them, they wanted something to stop it, and if it was cold they wanted warmth. And so they began, little by little, every one trying to just live out their imagination as they slowly built their first town.
In the beginning they were just a handful humans just building together, sharing the space and helping each other survive. But the rumour spread over the country. Many were lost and when they heard about this settlement they became curious. And when they came and saw how happy everyone was when building and helping each other, dividing tasks and making this by their own most wanted to join. Even Demians joined under this human, even though she herself never thought of herself as a leader. She built and helped like everybody else and when things got a little bit rough or hard she just offered an encouraging word here and an encouraging word there. Before she knew or realised it, she had gathered several hundreds of humans and Demians in the same place that tried to do their best.
It is said that one day she went down to the river with a group of other women and children to get water when she thought she saw a kid get pulled down in the river. Without any thought she hurried out into the river to save the kid only to find an unconscious male Demian floating where she had seen the child. The man had been severely wounded from fighting with some creatures and she brought him to the shore when the Gods appeared from the sky. Everyone came running and the Gods said that she had proven herself worthy. She had gathered many humans and giving them the most important thing; hope. She hadn’t thought of herself and she had answered to the sign. She had built the first human refuge and in the future this would be the first city of the world, and it should later be known as Blaro5, and she herself is now known as Mirrialle6.
Katia’s Foundation
Amongst the believers that tried to force the humans to realise that they needed the Gods protection for future survival as a race where a very special trio of Warbrothers. The trio consisted of one Demian made for to be a supreme tactician and two humans of extreme skill, knowledge and experience. The Demian, Brémo, is actually the younger brother of The Demian Twins, Iris and Vallin and they are actually the oldest Demians alive and all of them were made with a specific purpose – to be supreme in their areas of expertise. Cómen, one of the two humans, had managed to achieve such level of skill with the blade that nobody could even come close to him. Janus actually is a very special case, and actually one couldn’t really call him human.
His body had been altered in such ways so he had an amazing regenerative ability that far exceeds even the regenerative abilities of today’s dwarfs. It is believed that he had been altered in such ways to grow organs and replacement parts for humans at The Nursery. He had, with his former position, managed to learn a lot of the human body and was by far the most experienced human of the human anatomy. But that was not all the knowledge he had accumulated. Over his long years at The Nursery he had also managed to learn a lot of humans’ behaviour and psyche. He later was saved by Brémo and Cómen who became his first and very best friends. It was also thanks to him that their plan to force the humans into realization worked.
The humans that had fled north have fled into a very tough and harsh terrain with dark forests, rocky hills and really hard to navigate. When the trio arrived to this part of the land Brémo used his superior Demian abilities to quickly get a grasp of the terrain and the possibilities to plan ambushes and plant traps. While he was reconnoitre the terrain around all the scattered groups of humans Cómen and Janus walked into every camp they could find. Cómen would cut up Janus quite seriously before they entered the camp and make it look like he had been attacked by vicious monsters and predators to scare the groups. Janus used the time in every camp to learn as much as possible of them before Cómen would ‘bury’ him and they moved to the next group.
They continued with this scheme, going from group to group until Brémo had planned their next move. Their next move was to attack and drive the groups east, even further into unknown territory, and meanwhile make them believe that they were under attack by demonic forces by planting traps in every passage, and likely path they would take. And then have them fight each other and them without really knowing what they were fighting only to force them to unite. And in the end they would corner them and show themselves to make them believe in their cause. And so they began their plan, which succeeded very well. Even the animals and different creatures seemed to aid in their plan. The humans were indeed cornered at a lake and were united to fight together, but the trio wasn’t the ones to unite the humans in the end.
Out of nowhere an elf emerged an elf when the humans were cornered at the lake and ready to panic. She assured them that she could help her and that she could save the humans if they listened to her. The humans were amazed, nobody had ever seen an elf before and this is the official first time the elves made their appearance on Yurin that we know of. The trio suspected that something had changed when the humans that had seemed unite at the lake and fight back, and try to defend themselves. Brémo sensed that something was interfering with their plan and thought that this was the sign from the Gods and went to make his final strike, an attack that would quell the humans so they would think this was the end, and so they did.
When they made the attack, all the animals and creatures of the land attacked too. Brémo sensed another strange force interfering and thought that it was the Gods way of helping their cause, and when the Trio had almost forced all the humans so they were fighting in the lake with water up to their waist. Brémo, Comen and Janus showed themselves at the shore with the animals on the crest behind them telling the humans that the supposed ‘army of Demon Spawns’ had only been these three warriors. Who by themselves couldn’t defeat a real demonic army. And if humanity couldn’t defeat them then there were no chance that the humans could survive for long in this world.
That was when all the animals struck them from behind, the elf that had been hiding in the humans midst, told them that what the trio had said was true. But only because the humans didn’t know anything of the world and that they weren’t truly united as a people or race. She said, that they could defeat the trio if they united and fought along side with the animals of the forests, fight along with nature just like The Creator wanted. So they fought again. But Brémo wasn’t easily fooled or defeated and thus he managed to corner the humans again. They managed to not only surround the human but also force the elf to kneel with Cómen’s blade at her throat. This was when the Gods appeared in the middle of the lake and spoke to them all. The trio and the elf had together managed to unite and convince the humans to fight together, but the one who was rewarded to be the chosen medium and leader of the people was the elf, Agusi.
But this wasn’t the end of Agusi’s task. When the gods had appeared they had also spoken about a land without hardships, a beautiful land where everything was at peace, where the humans could start anew. A promised land which would help them grow as a race and where they would find out what it really meant to be humans, free from everything from the past. When they heard this almost everyone wanted to go to this promised land of the future for the humans and so they turned to Agusi to lead them there, and she knew, she knew exactly where it was, but the hard part was to get there. She lead them east them on a long and painful journey to the Promised Land and the biggest hinder on their way was the big mountain range of Kathir. How long it took, and how they actually managed this impossible task is something nobody knows. Agusi and all of her followers claim that they’ve forgotten. Some of the legends say that Agusi brought forth a big ark and sailed through the Kathir Demonic Reeves, others claim that she transformed all to birds and that they flew over the mountains.
When they arrived at their new home they were met with a great surprise. Everything they could se on the other side of the mountain were an endlessly big forest. The whole country was a gigantic forest that seemed to be older than the mountains. In the forest they met the rest of Agusi’s kin. They were greeted by elves that showed them how to survive in the forest. They also taught them how to take care of the nature and on the same time take advantage of the nature. The elves thought the humans the laws of Vordén, The Way of Balance and Nature which had been long forgotten after the fall of the Demons. After teaching them this they left the humans to take care of themselves, though they still could seek help from the elves. Agusi though, became the new caretaker with her new powers, taking care of every living thing in the forest of Kathir that the humans came to call Katia.
Deben’s Foundation
When Agusi went to Katia the Trio followed her, or so they thought. Somewhere during the journey Janus broke up with the others and chose to stay with those who were to afraid or weak to go on. Brémo and Cómen didn’t discover this until long after this and by then it was too late to change their mind to follow Agusi so they continued with their journey together to Katia where they too learned from the elves how to live by The Way of Balance. And for a while everyone was happy and content. But everyone wasn’t happy, and not for very long at least.
Cómen missed Janus and felt like nothing would ever be like it was before. He didn’t agree with the Way of Balance when he was more a warrior that wanted solitude and challenge in his life. He gathered all in Katia that was with him and decided to leave Katia to discover the rest of the new world.7 Comen and his army went east from Katia and there they found the largest river that they ever had seen. A river so wide that it was impossible to see across and with currents and streams so hard that even birds that tried to fish in the river was pulled down into the river. And in its middle was white mountains of ice floating, crushing everything in it’s way. This river they named the Ice River.
How they got over the river is a legend a few believe. It’s said that Cómen and his army somehow learned how to swim and they all swam across, and that only a tenth of the army survived the long swim. And when they arrived at the other side they met wolves that offered them their skin in exchange for giving them the gift of the mind and thought. They supposedly agreed and the wolves started to walk on two legs and guided the humans into this even thicker and wilder grown harsh landscape than Katia. Here they experienced winter for the first time and if legend is to be believed they would all have died if they hadn’t made the deal with the wolves and if they hadn’t found The Silver Rock Fortress.
The Silver Rock Fortress was a really strange thing for the humans. They had never seen a fortress before, and this fortress was more like a cube formed silvery rock. When they entered they met a strange creature that trapped them in the Fortress and played with them. After a while Cómen managed to come face to face with the creature and struck a deal with it. If the humans that were left won against the champions of the creature in a tournament they would be released and the creature wouldn’t disturb them anymore. They won the deal and the creature disappeared and the Gods appeared. The Silver Rock Fortress was now Cómen’s and he were made a medium as a reward for all the hardships he had overcome and endured to get here. After this, Cómen named his country to Deben.
Sancho’s Foundation
Brémo, who felt lonely after loosing both his Warbrothers, tried his best to be a warrior in Katia but with no success. The creatures that dwelled in the forest were strange creatures that you couldn’t fight with regular weapons and the Way of Balance prevented him from hunting them just to become better (this was his Demonic trait, to always strive for more power and to improve himself). So in the end Brémo left Katia too, after making sure that they had defences even though it seemed pointless at the time. But Brémo wanted to find his friends so he went out searching for them.
During his journey he made a lot of companions with the similar views as himself, most of them lost Heroes from The Stray Age or their offspring, which he managed to gather and prevent from destroying and stealing from others. He was rewarded for this by Sate, for preventing chaos to break lose and instead take advantage of the lost minds and give them a purpose8 . In the end, they found Sancho, exactly how this happened is unclear, but some believe that he had help from Sate while others say that Brémo sailed from Deben trying to get to the other side of the Poison Ocean but found Sancho instead. The most likely story is that Sate rewarded Brémo’s success for helping lost souls to give him a country that had been nearly destroyed by The Demonic Wars and give him the task of making this country in his image, and if he succeeded he would be rewarded to become a Medium for the Gods, which he obviously succeeded with.9
The End of the Founding
This first part is called The Founding. When the first nations came into existence, but this was only the first to come and as the world developed many things would happen. However, the second part of this age is called The Age of Wars, when the humans started to turn on each other.

Well, this chapter was a little bit tricky to write, as earlier stated. There was a lot of real changes in this chapter which I’m sure you’ve noticed if you’ve read it.
I’ve changed some facts here and there, since I’ve been thinking about stuff that would suit better in the history of Nianze. I’ve also revealed some new facts that haven’t changed but that I’ve kept hidden because I wanted it to be revealed later. But now I’ve realized that most of the information I’ve been thinking on won’t ever go outside my own mind if I expect it to always appear during role-play.
You might notice how some countries isn’t mentioned in this chapter, even though they actually did exist during this time. This is because of the first real appearance of the countries. As they were being acknowledged to the world or something like that.
Well, I’m quite satisfied with this rewrite even though it was hard to get it right. The worst thing is that chapter six will most likely be even harder to rewrite, maybe I must totally rewrite it and not just parts of it.
Well, well…
I sat down today, deciding to continue to write on the Myths and I finally decided that I will rename the sixth chapter to; “The Age of War” instead for the War of Nations.
I will apply the changes on the links in just a moment.
Changes have been made.
