The Prehistoric Ages Part II
Nianze Myths
This is a series of a story-like history for Nianze. It’s meant to be written from the viewpoint of Yurin’s history books. Therefore nothing of this must be true. It’s only the common knowledge on the advanced level. Please read this text as it’s a story and imagine that this is a fact book and remember that your character1 may not know everything I write here, but mostly this is the common view and this is what the skilled or school-trained person in Yurin knows. But know that a very selected few actually go to school in this world to, so most have a little wicked view of the history and therefore you can, as an example, twist this text and remove some elements if you want to play a character who you don’t imagine to have been around scholars or been to a school of any kind.
This is the rewrite with some changes. In the end I’ll put a link to the other rewrites. If you want to compare the two different versions you’ll have to do it on your own though. Also note that I’ve changed some facts because I liked it better this way and to better suit other stuff I’ve come up with for my world.
Comments are most welcome as usual.
The Prehistoric Ages
Chapter Two – The Bygone Ages
After the creation there is believed to have been a great many ages when the planet was developing and creatures learned their places and Gude and Sate learned how to rule alongside with their creator2.
But actually the bygone ages are only theories based on fragments of the Demonic knowledge. Nobody actually knows almost anything about what happened during this age or if it even existed for real, but there is some evidence that there have been civilizations and greater kingdoms and such before the Demons came to build their almost perfect society.
The greatest evidence of all that there have been eras before the Demonic Age is the dragons. Many dragons still have memories from being on Yurin before the Demons. But also evidence in forms of ruins and ancient artefacts sometimes make people believe that there must have been an age even greater than the Demons while others say that there have been a great many ages before the Demons.
There is also evidence that the elves actually originated from this era. Tough the elves back then must have been enormous and a lot different from the elves we know today. According to The Chronicles of the Elven Dragon Riders, the elves are cousins to the dragons and when they came into existence was so big that they could ride a dragon like it was a horse. The belief is that the elves learned the dragons’ how to do magic and that the dragons later learned the Demons about magic. But the discovery of magic wasn’t the first and only one. It’s almost certain that the first discovery of many ancient powers and energies was made around these ages but also many of them became forgotten when some of them were too hard to master or too self-destructive.
In the end of the Bygone Ages there is believed to have been a great of many wars and worldwide disasters due to all the exploration of all the strange energies and forces. Some of the most sentient beings on the planet that were experimenting with The Mystique Energies were destroyed but a few races survived by being very careful. But sometimes the havocs were so great and devastating that it was almost impossible to escape unharmed. With wars raging all over the world and with strange energies everywhere the Gods had a difficult time to actually manage all of their creations.
To solve the problem they created The Three Sacred Constitutions also known as The Three Ways3 and The Angels to uphold the laws and for a while the disturbances went down. But even with The Angles the problems didn’t just disappear over night. It took the world a long time to adjust to the Constitutions and to the Angels of Light, Balance and Darkness. And even The Angels couldn’t help everyone and their most important task was to help the world settle, which will take a lot of time.
It’s believed that it took the Angels about a thousand years, more or less, to help settle all the disturbances. But actually most wars had stopped and most of the civilizations from the Bygone Ages had been eradicated or forced into hiding by a new alliance of creatures that called themselves the Demons4. But for a while the world was calm.

If you are a player ↩
Some calls Vordén for a he and Gude and Sate for his sons, though it’s actually not really in that way. Vordén have no gender and either have Gude or Sate ↩
The Way of Light, The Way of Balance and the Way of Darkness ↩
This name comes from the words Demi and Monster, a half-monster ↩
To begin with, this chapter is renamed. I considered The Bygone Times versus The Bygone Ages and since I almost every time I refer to it in my mind and in speech as Ages, I went with that instead. And since this age is a really long and mysterious one it’s better for future purposes to have Ages instead of times I think.
The biggest change in this chapter is the new paragraph I’ve added about origin of The Three Ways and a little more about The Angels and their place in the former world.
But in general the text is easier interpreted now I think after the rewrite and it’s also more informative. I’ve changed a little with the paragraphs, I’ve moved one paragraph to the next chapter and made the last paragraph here mix in with the events of the next. I kind of like it how it tells the sum of the story, which later will be happening. It’s more… real in some ways.
