Ramble XXXIII
I don’t know how many times I’ve said this nor do I know how many more times I’ll say this but breakfast makes a hell of a difference when it comes to mood and everything. One thing I think I’m underestimating though is the power of resting. And now I don’t mean sleep but relaxing without necessarily doing anything, which isn’t my best side since I’m always doing something and seldom really, really relaxing.
The few times I actually lean back and just relax are mostly when I’m already so tired that it’s almost no use. The rest I get then is too little to do any good in the long run. Well, today I decided to take it easy. I need to get back some of my strength if I’m about to continue playing RPG again. The past two weeks have been quite busy and returning to the same thinking is a little bit strenuous and demanding on the mind.
Yesterday I played with Ankan and it went okay but I’m not satisfied with my efforts. Ankan did a good job but I could have done better, a lot better. Also in the end of the session all my power drained out of me and I was sitting tired as hell afterwards. But today it feels a lot better and hopefully everything will be back to almost normal in no time.
Having Iocus though will change things… I will not spend as much time there this week as last week but I will still be around the shop helping Kjell and that will take some of my time.
If everything goes as planned, which it might not since Kjell sometimes are slow to take action, it will soon be possible to have activities in the shop too. When that is possible, then things will get a little bit easier I think when we can play in the shop the small things. What I fear though is that the small things will be over before the back of the shop is finished and we’ll finally have started with the second arc.
Well, I’m going to Stockholm! Not this week but the next and if I remember correctly and if there aren’t any changes I will be going back there the week after that too with SVEROK. The first plan were to go there this weekend but after checking prices I realized that it would be to expensive for only one effective day. Going next weekend would be about 300-500 SEK cheaper and three effective days instead of only one. Well, I don’t know about PB still but since he has requested a session this Thursday I think he’ll be going off work this week and if I remember correctly (I can’t seem to remember much about that strange man) he said something about taking his summer vacation the week after this. But who know, it’s PB, nobody really remembers him…
It seems that Ankan is going to start playing EVE, it’s understandable when it’s his kind of game. A lot of thinking and a lot of more planning and meaning in the game and even though you don’t have much time to actually play the most important thing of your character still progress even though you’re absent. Just about ten minutes a day is enough to maintain your character and then when you have time play some more to gain money. Or you just spend your playing hours preparing your character so while you’re away he’s doing at least something that gives him some money.
Well, the summer is really here and I really like it must say. I must go out and enjoy the warmth a little in the sun and yeah! Continue reading. I’ve completely stopped reading these past few days since I’ve barely had have time to myself I wanted to spend reading. So maybe I’ll read some Wheel of Time out in the sun? Hum, that was a very appealing idea…
Best regards,
Herid Fel
I like the sound of that, always fun with more people even though I don’t know him very well and the fact that I will not be actively playing with either of you for now.
I hope you both will join me up north when you feel ready or failing that we should atleast meet on the battlefield.
We’ll see about that… Currently there seem to be a few bugs too many in wine. Things that have been reported and is active in the bugtracker (a few days old…) And I wouldn’t want things to stop working in the middle of the game when an update comes or something.
Might work better with some of the proprietary alternatives though… Will have to take a look sometime, but not right now. Otherwise, I am actually beginning to consider getting a desktop computer for these kind of things. I am getting tired of the sloppy support for games.
Actually, there are some indications that it might not be possible to run on my laptop because of the minimum requirements. Even though I noticed a long time ago and many versions gone that it was supposedly possible.
Well, maybe a gaming computer wouldn’t be such a bad idea… I don’t _need_ to use it for other everyday stuff, as that would drive me crazy.
They did drop support for Linux a few months back unless I’m misstaken. Ofcourse the people working on wine may still improve upon it but honestly if you want to play games Windows is your best bet regardless of its many flaws.
Depending on the power of your computer you can always run Windows on the side and just go from there though.
Dualboot is the solution I think. Hehe…
Well, well…
