More Delay

It seems like Kjell is quite bad in estimating when to open the shop. I think this is the third, or maybe fourth time the opening has been postponed for one or another reason. Well, I went by the shop yesterday evening and talked with Kjell and watched the progress in the shop. The shop is almost finished but the thing that has failed now is the shipment, he has no wares to stuff up. Plus that he isn’t completely finished with some of the building in the back of the shop where the role-playing and Warhammer-playing will take place.

Well, it doesn’t matter anyway. It will open sooner or later this summer and I will probably assign myself to help as much as he want me to and as much as I can. It will most likely be possible that I will spend many hours there if Kjell let me during the day. But only time will tell that I think.

Drak once again posted unexpectedly which always is very appreciated by me in many ways. Thank you for that Drak, I know I can count on you in times of need, hehe. I also posted an almost finished Shikár-post with only one paragraph left to write. I will probably write it soon. I just need to find the time and energy to do it, but anyway it’s not really interesting right now. I could just plainly say it matter-of-factly but well, you know me.

Well, today I spent most of the day with Robert and company. First playing X-files and later just hanging a bit at their place. Well, something that I thought about while walking back home today is how hard it is to get an X-file case to get ‘right’. Not only are the structure of the case/adventure vital but also the feel and the depth of it. The thing which makes it even harder is how to make it flowing, which is kind of hard, even without a rule-system to think about. When you copy or try to mimic something like a TV-series or something a lot is based on that particular series and it’s hard to really press the feeling into everyone playing.

One other thing is how to adjust it to the teenagers; it’s not always easy to read them since they are always tired and limping. That makes it hard to motivate the session forward if one can’t focus the concentration. The trick then is to find something which is interesting, and has a good flow and a sense of progress to them. Well, there is a lot I need to improve on with the X-files. Not only do I need to focus more on the adventures I think I need to create a more suitable environment too, put a little more effort into it. But well, it’s not always easy to please everyone.

Well, well, maybe I should finish the post now. Or maybe I’ll do it after breakfast tomorrow.
