Busy RPG Week

This week is turning out to be the busiest RPG week of the month. It was not planned to be like this but due to my brief outburst this Wednesday it seems like it will be hard to top this week without playing all day and all night, which I can say I won’t do. That will most likely take the quality out of the game.

The quality of The Outsiders seems to be on the rise. To begin with the word is spreading of my world and the group. It seems like its mostly positive stuff about me rather than my game and system. People still think my system is too complicated and advanced than necessary but anyway they enjoy it. I was actually afraid that just the complexity of the game would ruin everything but obviously I’ve been able to make a good impression with my way of game mastering or something similar.

One more player soon joining The Outsiders. Based on the good things he’s heard about me and an earlier invitation he now has time to play with us on Mondays. He was sitting in on the session listening and asking some questions and afterwards we talked a little before he and I finally decided to walk back home to my place from Finkan, talking about the possibilities and I showed him some of my work and explained more of my world.

So now I have two players in The Outsiders who both are thinking and reasoning as I’m trying to have the main group to reason. More with the social and in-game realism bit than with the system and doing things in a stale manner. I’ve also observed that most players in The Outsiders, do stuff like describing the environment around them and using it to benefit their situations even tough there still are some who asks questions they could answer themselves by imagining it themselves.

In the main group, everybody needs to train on this. I think, I’m not sure, that PB did one such thing the last session but I’m not really sure. I think I heard something but never got a confirmation about it later, so I might just have imagined it. Daniel tough, still asks too many questions when it comes to free-form social battles and situations. For instance; are there any dunes around? A question like that you could answer yourself as I’ve said a hundred times before. If you want something you describe it instead of asking for it, this The Outsiders do, and you should too.

Anyway, if things gets any better in the Outsiders group it will soon be a group on a similar if not equal level as the main group. Only that I need to focus more on it. Right now I’m giving them an opportunity to see history in the making and be a part of it, and if this goes well, they will be heroes and I will start to play out their story-line more seriously and with much more effort on the story behind everything.

One thing tough, is that Ankan might be kicked out of the group. Right now I feel like four people is straining, and then I’m not even concentrating or focusing on Ankan at all so it’s almost like I have three players in this group. With yet another player there is a risk that I will loose my focus and it will be too much, if that happens I will probably withdraw Ankan from the group, but as I’ve said, he can stay until I feel it’s too much. Hopefully that won’t happen since Ankan now seems to enjoy this group even more than the main group, hehe.

Best regards,
Herid Fel

BTW: Foppa has now left the main group, but he had his 22nd Birthday today! Congratulations!
