Meeting Two
Well, my body was exhausted from all the travelling back and forth so when I arrived at Umeå around 21:00 I just conversed a little with the parents and friends of the family in this house and they gave me a meal before I went to rest and continue to read. They hadn’t told Hugo, the smallest of the kids, that I was coming because he would have been impossible to put to bed if he knew I was coming.
That tough seemed as a pleasant surprise to him in the morning. It’s incredible how happy kids can get just by getting a visitor. But I guess a lot of stuff makes you happy at his age, which is kind of good I guess. Nils on the other hand knew I was coming since I had told him that over the phone and when he visited me during the LAN. He was even the one who came into my bedroom and woke me so I could eat breakfast with them before they went to school/day care.
They both seemed a little bit disappointed tough that they wouldn’t be able to see me much today since they both would be sleeping when I got home from my meeting but I promised them to play with them tomorrow instead. I later heard from their father that Hugo, as the small kid he is, had forgotten that I told him I wouldn’t be home so he had been waiting for me all night, wanting to role-play which I did with them last time I was here.
I finished my first book after they went to school and so and also started my second book. After reading a while and chatting with some old friends I went out for a walk since it’s been wonderful weather here; around one to three degrees and no wind and sunny. And I don’t know Umeå too well so I got into the city to familiarize myself with the town and also to try and find an edition of the game “Once Upon a Time” but unfortunately they had sold out. But I found some new headphones tough, which god knows I needed.
After a stroll of maybe three or four hours in the city I found my way to the meeting and soon I met all of the board again for the first time since the constituent board meeting. I won’t say much about what we brought up during the meeting but I must say that I like this lot. They are funny and have good aspects, so far, and they are open-minded. Well, most of them. And it wasn’t any problem to actually have a fluent discussion and openly talk and have fun with them either. It’s always good to know that if I decide to move from Luleå I might find some people to socialize with down here.
Needless to say, this meeting felt more giving and fun than the previous even tough we really need to work on our formalia and structure on things. I think that I would have been suited better as a secretary than an accountant, especially since I don’t have access or need to do our accounting records either. Since a big failure and shit happened it seems like the national federation, in other words, the biggest organ of SVEROK is doing our accounts for us. We are mainly try to regain our stability and trustworthiness buy getting everything in order again.
So in other words I’m mostly a middleman to the real accountant until ÖN’s economy is back on track and we’ve once again proven our worth since the last catastrophe of last year with the book of accounts and a lot of other important documents vanished due to a theft.
Well, this actually gives me an important position in the district federation but without any obligations which is a fun position. People need me to write and sign a lot of stuff, but I don’t need to do the heavy stuff. And so my opinion will weigh quite much in all matters with money, which is most of them. So I put myself in quite a funny position.
Best regards,
Herid Fel
