Time to Prepare
The post before the 11’000 hits post were protected. Ankan asked if this were something for you to read and I answered no. This post contains my thoughts as written on the bus when I reviewed my concerns around the Apocalypse and RPG after the campaign.
To sum it up in terms that won’t be spoiler for you I wrote about my original thoughts for the apocalypse, in other words what I thought the Apocalypse should have been when I first invented this new world nearly six years ago now. It’s not the same as today, but the concept is the same. I also discussed with myself about new elements and my worries about how this could go wrong, and just as sides note the post is written in Swedish.
Well, now I’ve started to figure out exactly how everything will be done. To begin with the WHOLE Apocalypse won’t be just these three scenarios that we are going to play; it will be a collection of many adventures and mini-scenarios. The three scenarios we’ll play will be the key-scenarios for success. We will also play them again and play other parts to perfect The Apocalypse. The Apocalypse is a mastodon campaign and I’m actually starting to plan for it a little bit too late, which I also wrote in that post.
So these are the steps and I want you to now finalize your character choices, and if you need to ask questions to determine your characters, do it here please. I will refrain from answering any questions that are relevant to the campaign outside the blog so everyone gets the important answers.
Step One – The Characters
This time, you will have to choose three characters. Depending on which you choose I will make them and put each and every one of them in different positions in the campaign. The formulas won’t be the same, it won’t actually be a real formula and all the stats will be relative to each other and not as usual.
Step Two – The Planning
After the chose have been done I can start to plan out the groups and the reasons to why and so on. Then we will start with one scenario at a time which, hopefully will be done well enough for you to have clues for what’s happening and how to solve it throughout the scenarios. One scenario will have one or several acts which could be considered adventures. I will control your actions completely between these and somewhat even during special parts of the acts. Also know that you might play more than one character in one scenario but never more than one character per act.
Step Three – Alignment
Note that there will be many forces at play during the apocalypse and all characters will be aligned to someone or something plus that all will have their own agendas and goals. These goals are to be the essential points of your characters. They are important since I will try to form them to shape the scenarios. There will be possible alignment changes and betrayal as well as… other things.
Step Four – Finalization
After the three scenarios there will be a summing up of everything where you all will have a great part to shape the outcome of the events and I will leave many blanks for later. But the most important thing after the scenarios are that you actually realize how to win the Apocalypse. Puzzle together the clues and come to the conclusion, if this is made within the limits then the final scenario will be played, which will be a short scenario but the most vital one since it’s the only thing that actually determines if the world will survive or not. The previous three will only determine how destroyed it is =).
Well, the last thing that needs to be decided is when to start playing this thing. I want to start during PB’s week off, but the earliest I can play is Saturday 27th, if everything is settled by then. I plan about 5 hours a session and circa 3-6 sessions1. I cannot play 29 and 30 but 31-3 is possible. I really want to play as much as possible during the day (12-17) if possible. The evenings might be occupied with other stuff. Well, nothing needs to be decided right now but at least I want to know when you all can play and so on.
Well, first, characters. I can sum up the essentials if you need to, but it’s only the most important things you need to know to play the characters that you should ask about. The rest will come later.
Best regards,
Herid Fel
Three sessions would be ideal, but that might be too optimistic ↩
News!
I cannot play this Saturday since I’m going to my Grandparents.
