Computer System Upgrade III

Well, there is a saying; No Pain – No Gain, which unfortunately seems to be all too true.

After a whole day of picking in computers the system is not finished entierly. I have fallen behind on the schedule, and even in this writing moment there is still things to do before the system will be complete.

It seems like I’ve lost a lot of E-mails. This sucks. And all due to an error with the Controler Card which was controlling my harddrive at the time. I’ve learned though, that the Controler Card is not to be trusted and therefore will be put out of commission from now on.

Which changes like, everything. I need to get an extension cable to my PSU¹ and I need to either get a HDD bay for 5,25″ or buy a new main harddrive for myself. I think that I will try the first alternative and then if there isn’t a bay to buy at Overklockers I will just go with a new drive.

Otherwise both systems are running pretty fine, I still need to open up the server one last time and move a cable that seems to flicker in a chassis fan. It makes an annoying sound every now and then.

As for the server it will soon be up with a lot of new stuff. So far I’ve uploaded about… 500 GB of data (of possible 2000 GB). Well, I’m not finished yet, but I will be as soon as I’ve emptied my old server harddrives.

By the way I will most likely get rid of all my Maxtor PATA-disks. I will sell them on Tradera, but if any of you want to buy a PATA harddrive, conntact me.

And yeah, for last I just wanted to say that my new keyboard is fantastic!
