Nianze Myths – The Prehistoric Ages – Part V
This is a series of a story-like history for Nianze. It’s meant to be written from the viewpoint of Yurin’s history books. Therefore nothing of this must be true. It’s only the common knowledge on the advanced level. Please read this text as its a story and imagine that this is a fact book and remember that your character1 may not know everything I write here, but mostly this is the common view and this is what the skilled or school-trained person in Yurin knows. But know that a very selected few actually go to school in this world to, so most have a little wicked view of the history and therefore you can, as an example, twist this text and remove some elements if you want to play a character who you don’t imagine to have been around scholars or been to a school of any kind.
Chapter Five – The Founding of the Nations
The first to gather a group of humans and build up a place was Améron, a Demian marksman that had fought against the Demons in The Great Demonic Wars and he was one of the most skilled strategists too. Améron had two Demian companions that helped him too, Vallin and Iris the two beautiful Demian Twins. They together managed to gather up a big group of humans and find a passage through the Azillroth Mountain Range.
When they got over the mountains, after a lot of battles with Dragons and other demonic creatures that lived there, they found paradise. Paradise was a big country that had started to recover from the wars. According to “The Legends of Paradise” this country was so beautiful and calm that everyone that walked through it felt calm and pleased in their souls and in the middle of this country was a beautiful lonely golden mountain stretching its golden peak for the sky. It’s also said that around this golden mountain Gude, Sate and Vordén swirled around. When they saw this, they immediately tried to reach this mountain.
When they reached the mountain the gods showed themselves once more. They said to Améron that he had succeeded in gathering the humans and find a suitable place to live on. As a reward for this he would be their first medium. They also said that this country was to be called the Holy Land, because it was here the gods’ dwelled. This, Vallin has said is false, she claims that the title the Holy Land was brought up by the emperor later. Anyway, this was the first country to be accepted by the gods, and it was called Aguin2.
The second country to come into existence was Blaro3 under the reign of Mirrialle, a mere human. She had fought alongside with the Demians to kill Demonic Abominations in the Stray Ages so she had good experience in both leading and following people. She also was in love with a Demian warrior whose name is unknown, but he’s known as the first King of Meno. Mirrialle was rewarded by the gods even though most people came to her and she didn’t gather them. Even so, the Gods thought that someone capable of gaining the trust and loyalty from so many without doing anything was worth of being a half-god.
The two next countries actually were created by the gods themselves. On the roof of the world, a big crack had emerged that threatened to destroy the world. To prevent this they created the Frost Crystal and placed it in the centre of the crack and took some humans, and told them to guard the slopes to the roof. The roof of the world was a great glacier that they called Icea and the humans were told to not let anyone near the centre of the glacier. To lead this snowy country of eternal winter Gude created a new being named Fergos, the first of the Frost Giants4.
The second of these countries is the bottom of the world where the Hellhole was. The Hellhole leads to hell, but also to the core of the planet if anything were to happen to the core the planet would explode. So they created the Hellfire Crystal and placed in the centre of the Hellhole and took some humans and told them to guard the wasteland around the hole. This country was later to be called Taraien. To lead this country Sate took one of the Fire Elf’s and gave her celestial powers to defend the Hellhole5.
The rest of the humans that hadn’t been chosen by the gods to guard the roof or the Hellhole had mostly fled north. Many died in their attempts to cross over Kathir and others tried to find a way to cross the ocean. Some learned how to swim though most drowned in their attempts. This is when a trio of Heroes from the Stray Age together lured most of the humans in the north to a lake where they were forced to fight together. What the humans didn’t know was that they fought against nothing. Of the three Heroes in the trio, one was a Demian and the two others were cunning humans. Brémo was the Demian in the group and he was one of the greatest warriors from The Demonic Ages with great skill in both fighting as well as strategy6.
The trio wasn’t the one to unite the humans; it was an elf that emerged out of nowhere using the trio to unite the humans against what the humans thought was an army of demonic creatures. When they discovered that they fought against nothing the trio revealed themselves telling the humans and their new leader Agusi, that the same could occur again, only that that time it could be for real. This made many people to believe that the gods were right, they needed to unite. Agusi told them about her country, which was on the other side of the mountains and offered to take the humans with her to the other side through a secret way.
With Agusi’s help they succeeded to go to the other side of the mountains. How this actually happened is something humans still argue about. Some say that Agusi brought forth a big ark and sailed through the Kathir Demonic Reeves, others claim that she transformed all to birds and that they flew over the mountains. Agusi herself claims not to remember and the same goes for Cómen and Brémo. What is known though is that the third member of the trio, Janus, stayed behind with a group of wounded humans that were too weak to survive the journey. Others had stayed with them just because they didn’t want to be separated. Both Janus and Agusi were rewarded for gathering and helping the humans. Janus out of passion for the weak and Agusi for helping the humans and give them a second chance somewhere else.
When they arrived at their new home they were met with a great surprise. Everything they could se on the other side of the mountain were an endlessly big forest. The whole country was a gigantic forest that seemed to be older than the mountains. In the forest they met the rest of Agusi’s kin. They were greeted by elves that showed them how to survive in the forest. They also taught them how to take care of the nature and on the same time take advantage of the nature. The elves thought the humans the laws of Vordén, The Way of Balance and Nature. After teaching them this they left the humans to take care of themselves, though they still could seek help from the elves. Agusi though, became the new caretaker with her new powers, taking care of every living thing in the forest of Kathir that the humans came to call Katia.
Cómen though missed Janus and felt like nothing would ever be like it was. He didn’t agree with the Way of Balance when he was more a warrior that wanted solitude and challenge in his life. He gathered all in Katia that was with him and decided to leave Katia to discover the rest of the new world. Brémo, who felt lonely after loosing both his friends, tried his best to be a warrior in Katia but with no success. The creatures that dwelled in the forest were strange creatures that you couldn’t fight with regular weapons and the Way of Balance prevented him from hunting them just to become better (this was his demonic trait, to always strive for more power and to improve himself).
Brémo then left Katia too, after making sure that they had defences even though it seemed pointless at the time. But Brémo wanted to find his friends so he went out searching for them. During his journey he made a lot of companions with the same views as himself, most of them lost Heroes from The Stray Age, which he managed to gather and prevent from destroying and stealing from others. He was rewarded for this by Sate, for preventing chaos to break lose and instead take advantage of the lost minds and give them a purpose7. In the end, they found Sancho, exactly how this happened is unclear, but some believe that he had help from Sate while others say that Brémo sailed from Deben trying to get to the other side of the Poison Ocean but found Sancho instead.
During Brémo’s travels he found Cómen on the other side of the Ice River in a even bigger forest than Katia. These forests though were filled with mountains with even rougher terrain than Katia with many mountains and a harsher weather too. Here Cómen had managed to find the perfect place to build up a country to his liking. As told in Brémo’s Journey, he grew tired of this country too when it proved too be no challenge to him at all. Cómen, however had learned a great thing that nobody else had found out, yet, how to build impenetrable fortresses and castles.
This first part is called The Founding. When the first nations came into existence, but this was only the first to come and as the world developed many things happened until it escalated to The Fire Wars, which is the subject of a later chapter. However, the second part of this age is called The Wars of the Nations, when the humans started to turn on each other to finally calm down before the last most devastating war in human history.

Good Evening class!
Welcome back from your vacation, I hope you’re all feeling all right to came back to the classroom after this long.
In case you forgot during the vacation, I’m Benhard and at the moment we are focusing at the General History of Yurin.
This age, is actually a mixture of the end of The Stray Age and The Age of Wars, a so called Changeover Age. Even so it takes up a lot of the nation’s history.
If this is your first time in this class, please introduce yourself before asking your question.
Just one last note before questions; if you want to read about the Celestial Raising you can find the supplement chapters in the end of the book between the glossary and the index.
As for the Nianze Myths about the countries, we’ll cover that later. The books about The Battle of Norrath Pace and Brémo’s Journey you can find in the library.
So, any questions on this chapter?
*Raises a hand*
Benhard, will we cover all the referenced chapters in this course?
Ah, Agus!
Glad to see that you’re still here with us!
Well, we will cover the nations later yes.
As for Brémo’s Journey and The Battle of Norrath Pace I have no plans to go through it as of yet, but who knows what the future may hold.
As for The Celestial Raisning I have a plan to go through all the current gods later yes. Like who was a God and when, in the chapter about Aguin you get to know that our current god of Aguin, Amén, is the son of Saint Antonia and Améron, who later died…
I hope that answered your question.
Next?
So, yet another class is over but feel free to ask me any questions about this chapter on the notice-board in the back if anything popps up.
Now I want you all to carefully think over today’s lesson and prepare for the next lesson where we’ll go into chapter six, The War of the Nations.
Just as this chapter, the sixth chapter is built upon many views and opinions, mostly from the memories of the Celestials and Immortals.
End of class.
