Favorite Food
Well, Robert requested that I write about my favorite food…
The thing thou, is that I can’t really say which of three it really is. It was quite a while since I ate any of them and I like them all! Enchiladas, Fondue and Mexican Buffet1.
Enchiladas is a special mix of spices, meat, vegetables, cheese and onions and such rolled in tortilla bread and then into the oven for awhile. When I ate it we often used olives too. It’s a Mexican dish from the beginning and the Mexican buffet often includes this dish too, so in that way the Mexican Buffet is better than this. But the Mexican Buffet I like is the one my old friend Andreas made sometimes. His Enchiladas often is different from the usual, containing minced meat instead of the meat slices I’m used too.
Fondue is great too, depending on how much preparations you make. When eating fondue you fry your meat and vegetables in oil or melted cheese. You often cut the meat in cubes and the rest in different small shapes so they fit on the little spit you have that you later put down in the bowl of boiling oil. This can be very, very good if you prepare it right and with all kinds of meat, vegetables, olives, cheese and fungus. It takes time both to prepare as well as to eat, but it’s nice and tastes very well.
The Mexican buffet is probably the most complex dish of these three. And unfortunate I don’t know the recipes for all the small dishes either. It often contains of about six or five different dishes, excluded the Mexican bull-soup. I don’t remember what the desert was, but I think it were some kind of salad. I don’t remember all the name of the dishes either, but some of them were enchiladas, meat loaf and two pies. However, I doubt I will ever eat this thing again.
Of these three foods I think I would pick the Fondue if I wanted to eat something that was fun, delicious and nice when you are many due to the social aspect of this dish when you’re waiting for your meat to boil. But if I would eat alone, I would most likely pick enchiladas. But the potential in Fondue is so much greater and the memories you can create during the dinner is unforgettable. Not to mention that you can make a dinner with fondue very romantic too, if you need it too be. But otherwise it’s great when you just want to have a get-together with some friends too.
So after some thought I choose fondue as my favorite food.
What’s your favorite food?
Best regards,
Herid Fel
