Persona ~Trinity Soul~
New anime review
By Herid Fel
First impression of this series is that it will be very interesting. The first two minutes before the intro, seems very promising and has both depth as well as traits of a good series with serious aspects. The animation seems improved from the average 2007 animes, so no complaining there. The first scene is quite mysterious, a redheaded girl drowning, or something. It’s hard to really know at first at least.
The intro isn’t that good thou. It’s name is Breaking through and I couldn’t deschiper the band’s name when it was written in kanji, but anyway, it could have been better. The animation of the intro thou seems to be appropriate and interesting, even thou I think that most sane souls would skip it if possible. Hehe, intro is a waste of time after all, one time is quite enough often and especially when the intro isn’t a good one, like this one.
The main characters is three brothers, that haven’t seen each other for some time, and that for some reason are going to start living together. There are a lot of issues it seems between the brothers. They have all kind of issues from losing a sister, to some communication problems between the oldest and the two younger. But their personalities seem okay. Not too whiney ala Naruto and not too sissy ala Rock1. Even thou the oldest brother seems to have be emotional detached and mostly concerned about his job. But well, I bet it’s just a facade.
The background music and sounds are pretty genuine and good too. The tension music is one of the better ones I’ve heard and it comes in good situations to.
The eye catch2 is nothing fancy or special, but quite enough anyway.
The vehicles in this series too are more animated that the usual ones, but well, I’ve seen this before, so it’s not so new, and considering it’s mostly CG then this is to be expected. The background figures still seem stiff, but I’m hoping for some quality background, with people moving and not just standing around, like in a Ghibli movies and some very rare series.
The highlight or climax, of this episode was quite interesting and gave away a little of what this series really is about, hehe. But more than that I’ll just say that it’s worth looking at.
The outro… is weird. The song isn’t that good either, and the animation is… weird. I don’t really get it yet, but people with animal heads?! Well, I guess this series strong side isn’t it’s intro and outro, but rather the rest. I recommend it.
By the way, Denno Coil seems a little… childish. And very simple, something for the age 10-14 or those who just likes easygoing animes that are easy to predict.
Best regards,
