Nianze News #001

S: Good day and welcome to Nianze News.
We have recently heard a rumor of possible changes in Nianze. The rumors are a little vague, but an insider informant of the NN1 is trying to confirm them now as we speak. We will try to establish a telepathic link with him now. Elm, can you do us the favor?

E: Of course, Suss, I’ll do what I can.

S: While Elm is channeling his force here, which is a little tricky right now when the magical channeling seems to change back and forth, I can tell you that it seems like our most deadly combatant, the Hireswords, seems to recently all have lost their profession.

E: I’m ready now Suss, the Multiverse seems a little, easier to handle now for some reason. I’ll try to establish the connection now.

D: …damned hole, I shall ask for better salary when I get back. Cyane has NO right to make me do this, NO right! Damn that bit…

S: Excuse me, Dr. D, but you are online here.

D: Oh, I am?! Well I’m sorry, Suss. Hi everyone!

E: Hello Dr. D.

D: Hello Elm. So, you want me to shed some light on the rumors?

S: Yes, we would be so delighted to hear if everything is true D.

D: Well, security is tight here in the Chamber of Knowledge so I don’t have much time so I start of with the Hireswords first. Rumor said that their Weapon Profession was to be altered for better or worse. Some complains were brought up and some even speculated that they would even lose their worth. But well, I have managed to get my hands on two preliminary files on this matter. None of them have been finalized yet but at least they will give us some thought about what is about to happen, ‘cause something is bloody happening.”

E: Be polite, D, or I’ll have to tell our listeners about the time when you…

D: I got it Elm, I got it and I’m so very sorry, no more BD lies…

E: Not even in shortenings D…

D: Yeah, yeah, let’s continue now, shall we? Where was I?
Oh, yes, the first file about Hireswords is a suggestion that Hireswords weapon ability shall be drawn back to earth, so-to-speak. And instead they would get some awesome techs, moves and styles that would make us all envy them in fast combat.

S: This sounds interesting, is there anything about how this will be done D?

D: Not really, the only thing I found in the file is that if this suggestion went through, their name would change too from Hireswords to Tekkans.

S: Really interesting, thou I don’t really know what it means. What about the second file?

D: Yes, I have another file here that suggests a change of their Weapon Profession to Battle Profession. This seems like a complex change that probably will remove the favored weapon from the special skills and instead give the Hiresword a special-special skill that seems to be a little vague, but there is something about a fighting style.

S: That certainly sounds interesting! I hope we can get some more news about that later! But for now, proceed to the magicians.

E: Yes, please do. I’m very interested to hear about what have happened to the channeling. I felt it was much easier as well as faster to channel this time.

S: But aren’t you so powerful that you barely channel at all?

E: Sometimes I actually channel pretty much and thoroughly, you see the magical channeling process is…

S: Erm, sorry Elm but we need to continue. D?

D: Yeah, magicians. This file I wasn’t too easy to get. But it seems very, very interesting. It seems like the rumors about speed channeling and ability channeling merging is true. The Magical Council of Magun has written this in a secret report;
The magical flow have drastically changed the last week. What caused this is yet to be determined, but the massive magical outburst in Azillroth is under heavy suspicion.
This s… thing, I mean, continues for about two pages but it seems like magicians from now on will be faster than ever to cast their spells, the compensation is thou that they will cost much more energy to cast. It also seems like they are developing new channeling techniques for all mages to use.

E: That sure sounds very interesting. I wonder if it would be possible to throw stronger and better spells with this.

D: It seems like that is possible and it stands here that you also… Oh shit!

E: What did I say about swearing D?

D: Damn! Got…

S: It seems like he severd the connection. The guarding system must have penetrated the shield Kormer gave him.

E: Well, that won’t get him away from using curses. I will have a good long talk with that dwarf when he returns.

S: Well Elm, I’ll leave that to you. But it seems like our time is over. This was the Nianze News. We will be back as soon as we got some more news to share with you, until then, keep your telepathic radio tuned on this frequency.
Good day to you!

Well, it was meant to be like a radio program.

Se this as a repcalement for the Journey of the Damned, that have been postponed untill futher notice.

Can you guess who Dr. D is and who is the program leader? It’s someone we all know very well.

Wel, what did you think about this type of post?

    Best regards,
    Herid Fel

I think this type of posting was actually abit interesting.. giving away some information about news and such.. but I guess the normal way works as well, though it was refreshing too see something new.

    Suss= my guess its Linssus
Dr.D= bit trickier..will have to think about that one

  3. Herid Fel says:

Heh, probably I will continue to do this. It was much funnier to write in this manner. Inside information from the insiders using characters that you should know.

Even thou some of them should be dead…

    Linsuss is the right answer.

Now just about Dr. D. Hehehe.

Enjoying way of conveying small bits and pieces of information. You didn’t give away too much, but from what I could read out it sounds interesting. Removing the high bonus on weapons for the Hireswords and instead insert something else might actually become great, since it will give some new depth to that class.

And now about the magicians… Even more expensive spells? Okay, I don’t know about the other schools, but animism is already expensive(!), but making it more so? I have a feeling this will not be good… Otherwise there wasn’t much new from what I’ve heard earlier.

  5. Herid Fel says:

Hoho, Animism is the most expensive school. Witch I’ve said earlier. That’s the price to be fast.

This thing thou, is mostly directed at the others schools that were too cheap before.

    But well, we will see.

Magicians will have a bumpy road from now on…

    But keep tuned…
