Travel Journal – Thursday 24/4 – 08

I’ve noticed that some of my posts are named Journey, which is wrong; I therefore changed them to Journal. I’m writing this Journal at my computer and for the moment it’s 28 pages long. Most likely 24-26 if you take away all the spaces and stuff. It’s pretty big and I’ve only been writing this for about thirteen days. It’s almost two weeks. But that’s only because I’ve started to do this the day I started travelling. Well actually the day after it was Saturday when I first wrote but anyways. On my blog you can se how many days I’ve been gone. And I’m counting the two and a half day I spent at home also, because it was just a quick stay, almost no time at all, if you ask me.

If you are wondering how it’s going on the RPG-front I will give you a quick update; almost nothing. When I was in the mountains I had much time to think about things and did pretty much background and things like that, but here I haven’t had time for that. The only things I’ve done are thinking about stories, plots and campaigns. I’ve also thought about if I should continue or stop with some things and if I should or should not continue to develop some things. Other than this I’ve not done anything, no paperwork, no updates. Everything so far is only thoughts and speculations in my head. I wonder if I’ll be able to Game Master anymore when I get home… haha, just kidding. Of course I will, that’s kind of impossible to take away. My personality has everything that a Game Master or a comedian needs. Improvisation, sense of direction1, acting skills, imagine and so on… I am a dreamer I guess.

Well, a thing I didn’t tell you about yesterday are that we got a new roommate named Nathalie, she’s from Austria. She’s about eighteen years old and she’s here in Japan to work (practically for free) in a Woofie-organisation. This is like a volunteer work and she’s going to work here for three weeks. Other than this it seems like she’s going to travel around Japan and try to see as much as she can. She doesn’t have much knowledge about Japan and her interest originates from a book or something she read a couple of years ago. However, she’s going to stay here in Tokyo for five days. Danielle will also leave in five days so after that I’ll be alone again… for a while then some other CouchSurfers will probably show up. But I haven’t yet decided if I shall stay here at Miiko’s or try to find a hostel or some other place to stay during my last week here.

Miiko has offered me to show some temples and to cook some curry and rice for me and some other stuff when they leave so maybe I’ll stay. And if I manage to fix the Internet I will probably stay too cause then I will have plenty of things to do and maybe I’ll even work on some RPG-stuff, but I don’t know… time will tell. Right now the internet isn’t working really in our room. We went to Akiba but unfortunately it seems like the router is not strong enough to let it go all the way up here2 so I’m going back tomorrow to change it for a more powerful one.

However, today we have done a little bit more than we have done the past few days. We went to Ginza to eat at that Indian place together with Nathalie. 1000 Yen for a buffet that was for vegetarians, and it wasn’t too great actually. I had as much as I could eat from it but the selection were pretty low and it didn’t taste all that great, but it was okay considering that you could eat all you wanted. They had rice with saffron and some tomato sauce that I really liked. Other than this the bread was the only thing that actually tasted good enough. After this we went to the temple in Asakusa to buy postcards and check out the prices for Kimonos and some other stuff. This time we went into the temple too cause Nathalie wanted to, even thou I don’t think it was too great actually.

Other than that we have just been hanging around here doing nothing in particular, which may seem a little boring but it wasn’t. It’s just that we actually have done pretty much so we are like resting up a little. I have some plans to go a little bit here and there and try to fix something that may enable a longer stay here later. And I plan to come back here soon again anyway, so I think I can leave some things undone for the moment. Tokyo is big and it actually costs a lot to travel if you want to do much. Like today I’ve spent about 1000 yen only on trains… next time I’ll come here I must have that travel pass. It seems like Melissas name actually was Vanessa after all. Today when we spoke to Jim he said that her name was Vanessa, so Danielle was wrong and I was right, not that it matters.

Well, I’ve gotten some requests for the Tuesday post, but some of you won’t get it, for different reasons. But well, it’s only about four pages of this Journal (which for the moment is up on 29 pages). Well, I’ll be available later I think, we’ll se. Now I’ll watch some series.

Best regards,
Herid Fel
