Aftertalk…

One thing that I have noticed lately is my motivation is different to play RPG with the kids than with the big group. Before the kids arrive, I don’t have any expectations, just one, to hang a little with Robert.
When they arrive we often eat something before playing, but sometimes we start right away. When we start I don’t have any motivation in particular but I have enough just to start up something easy and then it’s just goes on, like a wheel. Just a little push and it are on its way.

With the big group thou it’s a little different. If I don’t have motivation, or just neutral motivation, the session goes by slowly and not much at all happens and I need to concentrate to even make it possible to play at all. But with motivation it’s a lot easier, but then I obviously become a little blind to what other feel during the session.

The bad news is that nowadays it’s hard to bring up some real motivation and to keep it for a longer period, as soon as someone lays down his head or yawns or just bail out, the motivation is almost gone in a whim.

I think this is due to the fact that I probably have some higher expectations from the big group while with the kids I’m mostly trying to have a good time with Robert not caring too much about the session, just see it as an opportunity to test some things out.

Well, it’s not easy. But one thing I’ve noticed is that after playing with Robert and Rasmus, I have lots of motivation, so maybe I shall only have sessions with the big group after a session with the kids. But then I’ll lose the whole day sessions that I like so much.
